Exclusive: Pacman-Cotto weight issue is over!

PACMAN-COTTO WEIGHT GAME IS OVER
San Francisco, CA- The fight is on! Miguel Cotto will face Manny Pacquiao on November 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The only real hurdle in bringing this fight to fruition was what weight would the fight be set at? Cotto wanted to weigh 145 lbs, Pacman’s people, trainer Freddie Roach, he wanted Cotto to weigh no more than 142.

THE “WAIT ON THE WEIGHT” IS NO MORE

Yesterday, Roach agreed to the 145 lb. limit. The only thing the two sides are differing over is money and how the fight revenues will be split. Roach wants it 65-35 Pac. I’m expecting a 60-40 split, although I think 55-45 would be more equitable. Pacman’s people, promoter Bob Arum, who is on his way to promoter of the year honors again (even with his backing of the “cheat” Antonio Margarito) as Arum adroitly moves Pacman about the chessboard that is the upper echelon of professional boxing.

WHO DO YOU LIKE HERE FANS
Cotto is 31-1 with 27 whacks. The Filipino phenomenon is 49-3-2 with 37 KOs. Something’s got to give when these two clash November 14 on HBO PPV. What’s it going to be? Cotto rising to superstar level or Pac continuing his dominance over anybody he meets?
