Roach commenting on Manny's new found faith.

Roach said: “All he has to do is be more serious in training by toning down on his religious activities while in camp,” he explained. “As I have been saying, I welcome his religious involvement, but it should not serve as distractions like drinking, womanizing and gambling Manny had been engaging himself before.”

------ on those preachers, (aka leeches) etc.

Roach said: “If they want Manny to regain what he’d lost in that defeat, they should be the ones to make adjustments,” he noted. “Manny’s very excited in his new role and very happy for his transformation that he should be guided correctly. People around him now should not take advantage of him”

VERY WELL SAID! I 100% AGREE!!

110% Agreed!

He should stick to boxing while he is still a boxer!

Religious activities and Politics can wait. Just give Pacquiao space to concentrate on his boxing profession.

Muhammad Ali was considered a great boxer even if he had girls in line after his fight

Freddie preaching to the choir.
Wait....

Freddie, do you know the easiest way to get to a rich man's pocket is through his faith if he has a strong one ?
When you see a preacher crying during a sermon, it's tears of dollars.

I posted this topic before the Bradley fight. Lo and behold how true it has become arrayed against the objections of many.

It's title was " Manny's Bible Pre-occupation, a Distraction".

Manny's new found interest, bible study, is both a bane and a boon for his boxing career.

It is good enough in the sense that through it he was able to turn his back from some of his well-known vices namely **** fighting, gambling and womanizing which were his distractions in the past. On the other hand one can claim that immersing in the study of the bible is also time consuming and softens the heart and will to mete on one's opponent the punishment that will ensure a decisive, effective and fan-satisfying result.

Tim Bradley is a hard-nosed dance partner for Manny. He is young, hungry, strong, skillful, black slick fighter/boxer, dirty, and wily. His power is suspect at 140 and more so at 147, but he is undefeated. Manny, if unprepared and distracted will lose this one. Bradley is not like Marquez who simply waits all 12 rounds and thus lose his opportunity for victory, he attacks relentlessly with the baddest of intentions. I hope that Manny does not take him lightly in the light of Ariza's interview with fighthype belittling the capability of Bradley.

The way his camp has been going on in recent fights, Manny will lose this one. The rematch, as it will be stipulated in the contract, will be different because by then he will be very focused. Uncle Bob likes this. Floyd likes it. Maybe Manny likes it too. It is all about the benjamins.

The Bible study can be ominous.

They need to give way when he is in training. They can always put aside their agenda and it can wait till the training is over.

EXACTLY!!!!!

Distraction for another distraction! He shunned his vices and sultry nightlife to embrace religious activities which is more demanding and taxing than ever before!

Whether they admit it or not... directly or indirectly they are "using" Manny. I am not saying its wrong. This being religious thing. But everything has its proper place and timing. So roach is just saying.."MANNY IF YOU HAVE A FIGHT, JUST THINK ABOUT BOXING!"

Manny, religion = brainwashing. You don't need anyone to tell you how to relate to your god. They have not seen god themselves and do not know better than anyone. The bible was written by people. It has wisdom but again you don't need anyone to tell you what it says. Just read it yourself.
