Pacquiao eyes big comeback fight vs. JMM in September

MANNY Pacquiao is bracing for a big comeback fight in September to redeem himself from the resounding loss he absorbed from his archrival Juan Manuel Marquez last month.

“When he returns in September, he must win his fight. That’s all. At 34, I believe he can still fight. He needs to prepare very well this year,” Pacquiao’s business adviser Rex “Wakee” Salud told The Manila Times on Monday in a telephone interview. “That would be absolutely good [if he wins].”

A possible fifth fight against Marquez awaits Pacquiao in September according to Top Rank Promotion head honcho Bob Arum.

The former pound-for-pound king though cannot book a bout any time soon because the Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended his boxing license for 90 days. The suspension aims to prevent any serious physical damage to Pacquiao who was knocked out soundly by Marquez in the sixth round of their fourth encounter....

You're still thinking of Mayflower ?

First fight after getting KO'd in 10 months, si Marquez agad ?
I DOUBT IT.
He'd need a tune-up first.
Quote:
“Pacquiao remains to be the strongest and fastest boxer of all time, but he needs to focus more on his boxing career. If he focuses very well, no one can beat Manny for sure,” Salud said.

Salud is a Pactard.

Quote:
Salud also believes that the much-awaited fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. could still happen in 2014 simply because of its huge financial potential, “If you’ll look at it, the money is there. So I know it could still happen.”

What money ? There was a lot more money for that fight last year, and two years before that. It didn't happen.

I can't wait! This fight is going to be huge. it will probably be the biggest payday either one of them will see. ODLH vs PAC was big, but this one will be bigger. Expect a Pacman that will be more cautious but still be aggressive. he knows Marquez is much stronger and should be wary of his right hand. Go MANNY!

let me guess, another "best training camp ever" on HBO 24/7....celebrities, leeches, pastors, night time basketball, etc, etc, and a letdown of a fight. I wont expect nothin about Pac this time around - if he wins, great, if not, im not expecting a win anymore

Setup is already wrong.

September fight, why? Because he wants to get over with politics first.

What the hell, how do you expect to "rise again" if your priority for the year is distraction.

And after the brutal KO, it's an immediate rematch. I doubt Marquez himself would wait that long. He'll probably have a tune-up in between. Pac should try to secure a Rios fight for the meantime then try to get marquez again by December.

agree with this, sometimes overconfidence will lead to devastating results. See Michael Carbajal vs. Jorge Arce..

Measure himself if he really shrugged-off those haunting effects of getting KO'ed.. He should have fight Bradley first, a right-handed speedster so he can have a good preparation if he needs to take on Marquez for the 5th time.. Maybe Bradley is way too far from JMM's ability but at least would test Pac's agility, speed, and mental toughness.. He will be facing a young bull who has something to prove, and is eager to bring the fight on Pac..

Pac winning this fight would give him a belt at least and avenge his controversial lost, before going on against JMM.. :hat:

Not Rios. Rios is a tough guy. A banger and brawler.
Someone less dangerous. Never mind the ppv. 600K ppv is alright.
What is important is he notches a win. 3 successive losses is a disaster.

Bradley fits that guy.. Avenging his 1st loss and getting a belt is just a bonus.. :hat:

they'd been married for quite sometime now...:D
kinda considered a "sweet couple" in the ring already :)
entonces, both knows each other very well...
it's just a matter of focus, preparation, and execution that will prevails in the end.
