Here's a head to head comparison of PPV buys for Pacquiao and Mayweather fights.
Pacquiao trumps Mayweather in all common opponents except for De La Hoya.
Only reason why Mayweather has a better average is because of that single fight.
Remove the De La Hoya fights for both fighters and Manny edges Floyd 1.15M to 1.05M.

Sources: Boxing's Biggest PPVs of all time - Yahoo
Mayweather vs Guerrero - 870k buys - Dan Rafael trusted sources. 1M buys for Floyd's last fight highly doubtful.
Even if it reaches 1M, Pacquiao still owns bragging rights as the real PPV king. Check the numbers. 1.15M versus 1.078M!

Pacquiao/ Mayweather
De La Hoya - 1.25M / 2.52M
Hatton - 950k / 920k
Cotto - 1.25M / 1.20M
Marquez 3 - 1.35M / 900k
Marquez 4 - 1.25M
Mosley - 1.35M / 1.2M

Pacquiao
Margarito - 1.25M
Clottey - 700k
Bradley - 1.1M

Mayweather
Victor Ortiz - 1.25M
Guerrero - 870k

Totals 10.45M / 8.86M
Ave per fight 1.161M / 1.265M
w/o DLH ave 1.15M / 1.056M

Can you also post PPV figures for:

Pacquiao vs. Morales 1, Morales 2, Larios, Morales 3, Solis, Barrera 2, Marquez 2, Diaz
Mayweather vs. Gatti, Judah, Baldomir

I think those are necessary for a complete comparison... Those are PPV fights prior to their DLH fight...

maybe the best baseline for comparison for both fighters is after fighting De La Hoya who shoved both fighters to stardom. although the TS can oblige the responder above just for the sake of comparison. maybe the TS can start on each of the fighter's first PPV fight.

Very sound analysis bro Philarious! The PPV numbers in Mayweathers vs De La Hoya was becasue of the Golden Boy who was still the man at that time. After DLH loss to Fraud his stock kinda plummeted that's why he was forced to fight Pac at Welter just to make good money again. Yes if we take out DLH vs Fraud, indeed Pacquiao is PPV King! Obvious naman eh, nowadays its still Pacman who is grabbing the headlines. Floyd just fought but he seems to be out of the picture lately. Even his boss Schaeffer is trumpeting Matthysse as the next Pacquiao!

Nice comparison...
But, Pac shares his revenue to Arum while Floyd collects all...
