Why? Why can't they admit the truth? Are they masticating it? The numbers should be out in a week at the most.

Because the result is not according to the promoter's expectations.

Have you heard of a boxer who buys post fight PPV (and therefore sacrifices his purse) just to keep his numbers up? keeping the numbers up means better image, more endorsements, satisfying the network (at least it makes some money at the least) and more fights of course. in the end its still a win-win for the boxer and the network. just asking.

Gretchen bought millions worth of tickets to her own movie to pad the box-office results.
She even admitted it. Her reason was she's a fan of herself.

Thanks Bro Joey for the info on Gretchen. We have a precedent then. Buying post fight PPV's are not far fetched indeed just to make the grade

Now i know why HBO may have dumped Mayweather. Floydie is not producing enough PPV numbers to make their investment viable. And SHOWTIME were made to believe that Floydie is a cash cow. suckers
You want proof? When Pacman went to Showtime for a 1 fight contract (i believe against Mosley), heads rolled in HBO. When Floyd left HBO, no heads were rolled. It was a kind of good riddance type of thing.
