There has been a surprising number of great fights throughout the first half of 2013, and two particular bouts scheduled for the end of this year have already created a lot of buzz.

In September, undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. will take on Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Two months later, in November, former eight division champion Manny Pacquiao will square off against Brandon Rios. Both of these match-ups are highly anticipated, however, according to Pacquiao’s camp, only one is apparently deserving of that anticipation.

Excerpt from the article:
Is Arum genuinely praising Mayweather and noting that he presently has no equals in boxing? Is he simply trying to take a bit of shine off a rival’s biggest event of the year? Both? With the Top Rank boss, you never know.

He didn't even mention Manny's chance over FLoyd. Now we know why the fight still not happening until now. :? :o Or still milking Manny up to the last dollar!

the title of this thread should be ARUM DISMISSES MAYWEATHER VS ALVAREZ FIGHT.
.. cant blame them though. they're still riding on the popularity of pacquiao.

Title is misleading indeed. It was Arum who dismissed mayweather vs Alvarez superfight.

Arum is a liar. During the negotiations or when the fight was not yet finalized between Floyd and Canelo, Arum was interviewed
and said it will not happen because Alvarez is too big for Floyd and Arum said Floyd had a hard time fighting Cotto at jr. middleweight,
getting his nose busted and that's why he believes Floyd will not fight anymore jr. middleweight boxers like Alvarez.
And now when he saw the green light of the Floyd vs Alvarez fight, he is changing his tune saying Alvarez doesn't
stand a chance against Floyd.
Well his intention of downplaying the superfight is quite obvious. GBP is the promoter of Floyd vs Alvarez which is the competitor
of his company - TR.

Arum is so mad that Floyd and Canelo will break records in front of real boxing fans, while his boy Manny is stuck fighting for rich Chinese Commies.

Not only mad. it was a slap on Arum's face that he has to move the schedule of Bratley vs Marquez from September to October because of the Mayweather vs Alvarez superfight
in September.

Arum, mad? I believe Arum somehow had an inkling that GBP would feature Canelo as a headliner in September (Mexican Independence Day). For Arum, to move Bradley v. Marquez the month after Canelo's September fight was a no-brainer. Boxing is business. As always, pride has to take a back seat to common sense. Arum mad? No. Arum knows.
