Even if Pacquiao miraculously beat Spence, it would still be weird for Pacquiao to even be a candidate for the FotD...

Why?

Assuming he miraculously beat Spence and that's his last fight for the year:

Record: 12-4
Champions defeated: J. Clottey, A. Margarito, S. Mosley, J. Marquez, B. Rios, T. Bradley (x2), C. Algieri, J. Vargas, L. Matthysse, A. Broner, E. Spence - (12)
Alphabet titles won: WBO Welterweight (x2), WBC Jr. Middleweight, WBA (Regular) Welterweight, IBF Welterweight - (5 + WBO Welterweight possessed from 2009-2012)
The Ring titles won: None

Compared to other candidates, take Canelo for example, assuming he beat Jacobs and also his last fight:

Record: 22-1-1
Champions defeated: C. Baldomir, L. N'dou, K. Cintron, S. Mosley, A. Trout, E. Lara, M. Cotto, A. Khan, L. Smith, J. Chavez, G. Golovkin, R. Fielding, D. Jacobs - (13)
Alphabet titles won: WBC Jr. Middleweight, WBA (Super) Jr. Middleweight, WBC Middleweight (x2), WBO Jr. Middleweight, WBA (Super) Middleweight, WBA (Regular) Super Middleweight, IBF Middleweight - (8)
The Ring titles won: The Ring Jr. Middleweight, The Ring Middleweight (x2) - (3)

And then compare with the stats of the previous FotD winners...
