VW SAKBAYAN - the first Philippine (super) car.

this is the Sakbayan, a Volkswagen made in the Philippines. They were very popular during the late '70s with very wide usage much of our SUVs now.

Here's the story of how VW are so sturdy.
We had an appointment with a sugar planter to visit his farm at 8 am. He was late for about 30 minutes as he has to travel 7 kms from Bacolod City. When he arrived I noticed his Brazillia was puttering even just chugging like an old locomotive but anyway we went to his farm. Upon arrival there, he asked his mechanic to check what is wrong with his car. His mechanic did and later told him that only one spark pug is working, the rest is dead, can you beat that?! can any supercar do that feat?

And wait until the near time when Vallacar Transit will start producing their own engines. Then we can say that something is really going on in the auto industry here in the country. They had just rolled out the first ever bus with individual reclining seats and plans to fit all their tour/aircon buses with these features.
