Boxing afficionados, feedback? Reaction? Opinion?

Sampson Lewhatever is just hyping up his own boy. Truth be told, Sonsona is several notches below Donaire and we're talking in terms of accomplishments here. Donaire is a 4-division champ, a feat which only the rarefied few have achieved, having steamrolled past quality opponents along the way: Darchinyan, Montiel, Vasquez Jr, Nishioka just to name a few. Daghan pang kaunong bugas si Dong Marvin to be discussed in the same breathe as Donaire.

for me we dont need to pit filipino fighters against each other even just hypothetical. just my hope, i dont wana see the likes of vilorias fighting against the donaires. filipino boxers are struggling boxers. i wish them all the best

Sampson, the Picasso of Boxing, is entitled to his opinion.Being the manager and a veteran in boxing scene, he maybe hyping Sonsona or he see a quality in Sonsona that made him say that.

Neverthess, for me, he is the next big thing in Philippine boxing..being only 23 years old..he can be a force o reckon with and win belts as he moves up in weight..but his focus was in question before although he said that he is not a reformed person and will focus in boxing..

Good luck to Sonsona

Assuming he is a notch above Donaire, he has no discipline so far, and that makes him lose a fight.

Both are similar, they rely on their KO power. But when faced with a slicker fighter, they become inactive, even flustered, and face losing, unless they finally get their opponent who becomes careless.

I'd say Donaire is a notch way above Sonsona in the business though. Sonsona still has a lot to prove.
