Lin is an average nba player and he isn't doing anything overly spectacular. He scores better than he runs the team but his defensive skills suck. New York was a good team before Lin got there or started playing and they will be a good team after he is gone. He is just another hype job built up by the press to sell print. I think it is sad because it takes away or diminishes the skills of other players that work hard on both ends of the floor and have been doing it for a long time. Mayweather never said that about Yao Ming, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitski, or Tom Chambers because they are/were legit. Linsanity is just a flash in the pan

lol
actually, they were not only a good team but a championship contender on paper before Linsanity struck the garden..(chandler, amare, melo...)
but the knicks' offense was centered on isolation plays and non stop three pointers before lin played.
d antoni's system needed a steve nash type of PG, while Lin is not steve nash, he has helped the team in scoring sans their premier scorers melo and stat. Lin has been stellar in facilitating the offense thru their pick and roll.He invites double teams whenever he attacks the basket that leaves shooters open... so it was not surprising he had a career high of 13 dimes.
when was the last time you saw jarred jeffries become a scoring option?

Mayweather is right! that Lin got so much attention because he's asian. If he's black he's just an average basketball player. Take a look at Kevin Durant who scored 30 points per game the whole season with a bunch of buzzer beaters. Durant didn't get much attention and praise as Lin.

Bro. kevin durant is the leading candidate for this year's MVP. kevin durant is also the starting five for the western squad in the all star game.

kd does a lot of ink for his feat. lin's 25/8 ave for an undrafted bounced around ex-dleaguer now playing for one of the most popular teams with big media is a great story that continues to inspire. if he were a black guy named john black having exactly te hsame set of circumstances he would still get the same/similar attention in the US.

what more can a team wish for? Here is a 6'3" PG who practically does everything on the floor. He can create a play, NO FEAR attacking the basket, layup or dunk the ball, shoot 3 from downtown. assist 3 pts shooters, pick and roll, steal the ball, even rebounding, but most of all, his contribution to win the game is non-compared.

After the game, he gives a very fine interview ackowledgeing his team in a win and take all fault in a loss. A good Christian. Speaks in real english (not ghetto slang). He elevated the standard of NBA in 2 weeks. Created a Linsanity around the world and around 300 million business for NBA. Magic J. is convinced he is a real deal. Our national pride Packy wish to meet him in person. LIN is setting a good example to everyone as an educated and respectable cleancut young man from Ivy Sch. More luck Linsanity. May GOD bless you!

As for Mayweather. the devil is still on his side but his time is running out. Both St Michael and Lucifer are centering his B U T T for good kick.

Lin is the inspiration of the Knicks. Where else do you see 3-non starter players getting double digit production nos? (Jeffries, Novak, Fields)... even Chandler now always running after the pick and roll because he knew if he moves and got an opening the ball will just fly to his head and just jump and dunk it.

NY Knicks acquired NBA stars into the team (Melo, Stoudemire and Chandler) but still struggling to win on home court and in road games (8 wins, 13 loss), until Lin played became 16 wins and 14 loss --> a big contender to the conference playoffs.

Mayweather is a liar, when did a liar became right???

Enough said.

I didn't know an "AVERAGE" player in the NBA averages 20+ ponits and 10+ assists/game.
