that was funny but that move was actually risky knowing that his face was pretty open, clottey could have delivered a quick solid straight punch to Manny's face but he didn't realize that.

So is it illegal?

I saw Emmanuel Augustus do it once but was not warned. Although it was a double straight ala karate, not a double hook.

Manny did Clottey a favor and cleaned his ears for him.

That was just as funny as when our flag bearer was doing the beheading gesture towards Clottey as the Ghanian was doing his dance in the ring.

Anybody saw that? I was watching the TR version, I believe. It's the one where Mario Lopez did the post fight interview with Manny.

Honestly, when I saw that fat slob doing that I thought, what a fcktard. He shouldn't be doing that. Tapang tapang niya kasi hindi naman siya yung lalaban. What a fcktard.

That's not illegal, is it?

Was telling my kids that he got that from FPJ. Got prompted to do it because he was firing so many body punches.

Long-live the King!

it's illegal punch bro. it's like punching the opponent while holding him with your other hand...that's why Pac was warned by the ref. :D

Looks like Manny was deliberately trying to pull Clottey's hair. A man-to-man fight turned into a girls' fight.

Master Roach comment:

About that “Thunderclap” -- a/k/a “Pop Goes the Weasel” -- Pacquiao effected in the fourth round, drawing a stern admonition from referee Rafael Ramos when he slammed his fists against both of Clottey’s ears at once. Roach chalks that one up to, well, a case of Manny being Manny.

“He does it in a gym all the time,” said Roach. “I don’t think there’s been a guy he ever sparred with he didn’t try it on, and Steve Forbes, in this camp, was the first guy who’d even retaliated. When he talked about doing it in a fight I warned him ‘Manny, don’t even think about it, because they’ll take a point away if you do.’”

“No they won’t,” replied Pacquiao. “The first time I do it they’ll just warn me.”

In gym sparring, or in amateur bouts, the technique can be downright dangerous, since catching an opponent wearing tight-fitting headgear on both ear-holes at once could easily rupture an eardrum, “but I frankly don’t understand why it should be illegal in a professional fight,” said Roach. “I’ve asked a bunch of people and never gotten a good answer. Think about it: all you’re doing is throwing two punches at the same time. I can’t think of any rule that says you can’t do that.”

I was also laughing when I saw manny did that two-punches in one.
It just shows that Manny is in complete control of the fight. He can afford to do things like that. 8) 8)
