a paper champion?

Well........... yeah. :biglaugh:

i hope he'd make it to be a full time and legitimate champion, not just a mere part timer.

So do I. Let's hope he's also got the heart of a fighter, who focuses better and gets angrier as they get beat up.

Why would fans want Drian to fight for that TITLE when he has a legit claim for it. He already fought for it, he even risked his chances by fighting at the opponents home turf. The reason why he is the interim because Cazares wasn't ready to defend the championship and that there should be an immediate successor just in case the regular champ vacates the title or fails to defend the title.

Why do some of you guys don't consider an interim belt a real word championship belt? Our guys is good, he deserves to be elevated to that status, defending it and showing his worth only follows.

drian should be thankful that he will be elevated as a regular champion. at least his tag is no longer an interim champ. if he will fight cazares, he has slim chance of winning. cazares has a knockout power plus a very crafty boxer. i am not under estimating drian's boxing skills but it's quiet obvious cazares is way above him technically. as for mijares, it's 50-50 chance for him if ever the 2 meet in the ring. mijares is not a known puncher so drian has a punchers chance of winning against him.

Im not agree bro. drian francisco will be the next manny pacquiao (not nonito donaire jr.)
He will move up to bantamweight division and defeat all the champion there including nonito donaire jr. and he will teach donaire a lesson of humility!!!!

I do not agree cazares is afraid of drian. it is just that money fights are in the bantamweight division now. Just like how manny moved up to welter to fight oscar instead of facing casamayor in lightweight after his win against diaz.

The WBA is a joke. It's already bad that there are multiple sanctioning bodies in existence nowadays but its ridiculous to have 3 WBA world champions in 1 weight division. It's no fault of Drian if its given to him but such a distinction of becoming a regular world champ by default is a hollow achievement at best. And now we are talking about him defending the belt. What if he is to fight the superchamp? What is it to be called then, a unification bout?

This is not the Miss Universe wherein there will be "successor" if in case the regular champ cant defend his belt. Usually the interim title is given when there is a void after a champion vacates his spot by not defending the belt in the prescribed amount of time or he moves away from the division. It is not given while the champ is still in place.. But then again, its the WBA (World Boxing Anomaly sabi nga ni Radeon)

the reports that cazares moving up in weight are only speculations. there is no truth on it as there was no official statement from wba itself.

in the wba site, hugo cazares is still noted as a champion. his last title defense was only last dec. 23, 2010. WBA site clearly shows it's not updated in regular bases. we can still see marcos rene maidana as their interim super lightweight champ even he already loses the title to the regular champ amir khan in their unification match. the same goes to paulus moses who lost his regular title to the interim miguel acosta who is set to defend it against brandon "bambam" rios. Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym who already lost his title to Ryol Li Lee of Korea who in turn lost it to Akifumi Shimoda just this year. nonito "the filipino flash" donaire is still there as interim superflyweight champ although he already reliquished it to move to bantamweight. roman gonzales is still as their minimumweight champ even he is now campaigning as a light flyweight and just recently awarded as the full time champ after regular champ Juan Carlos Reveco relinquised it to move to flyweight.
