PACQUIAO VS. MOSLEY GENERATES 1.3 MILLION PPV BUYS?

Sources close to the information have informed us that Manny Pacquiao's unanimous decision victory over Shane Mosley last month generated roughly 1.3 million pay-per-view buys. Initially, early projections had promoter Bob Arum estimating at least 1.2 million buys, but with the bout being distributed by Showtime Pay-Per-View and promoted heavily by CBS on network television, expectations were high for a number between 1.4 and 1.5 million. Just days after the fight, a report in the New York Times said Arum expected to know the exact numbers within a week, but that was nearly a month ago. Although representatives from Top Rank Promotions have yet to make the final number official, FightHype.com was told over the weekend by two sources that the number is right around 1.3 million.

Here is my version:

PACQUIAO VS. MOSLEY GENERATES 1.8 MILLION PPV BUYS?

Sources close to me has confirmed that Manny Pacquiao's unanimous decision victory over Shane Mosley last month generated roughly 1.5 million pay-per-view buys from Showtime and another .3 million from TR internet PPV. Initially, early projections had promoter Bob Arum estimating at least 1.2 million buys, being distributed by Showtime Pay-Per-View and promoted heavily by CBS on network television, expectations were high for a number between 1.4 and 1.5 million. Just days after the fight, a report in the New York Times said Arum expected to know the exact numbers within a week, but that was nearly a month ago. Although representatives from Top Rank Promotions have yet to make the final number official, until there is a positive reaction on the $65M offer of Singaporean group.

What is this "Unnamed Sources" floating around recently? I don't believe it because based on my trusted source the number is 1.6 million buys.

Floyd-Mosley generates 1.4 million because people feels that it will be a competitive fight and believes that Mosley have the ability to give Floyd his 1st loss. For Pacquiao-Mosley to generate 1.3 million buy with a lot of boxing fans and writers saying that the fight is a mismatch right when it was first announced shows that Pacquiao now have a bigger drawing power than Floyd.
