It was not rousing and may even be a disappointing victory for Manny, yes but nevertheless is the right result.

As with any title fight, the challenger has to prove more to deserve the crown. We're used to Manny blitzing his opponents and we've high expectations of him but STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Every boxer will always have someone to make the fight difficult for him. That is not enough though for Marquez to deserve the crown. He merely made it difficult for Manny to win by KO and Marquez remained standing. That doesn't warrant a new champion.

Here are the CompuBox numbers:
Pacquiao landed 176 of 578 punches. Marquez connected on 138 of 436 punches only from a counterpunching game plan. Pacquiao had a 117-100 edge in power shots.

I agree with one TS here who said - "Marquez didn't do anything special except not getting knocked down for the first time in 3 fights." :)

The final result is fair, to me Marquez did not do enough to win the fight and Pacman is ahead by a round or 2.

Yes we did and very intently at that. And oh, we validated it with CompuBox numbers too. Sorry, Marquez didn't do enough to deserve it. :)

If Marquez thinks he was robbed, he should file a protest to the athletic commission. He should have filed a protest for the 1st & 2nd fight he thought he won. But I think he can't convince himself that he really won.

Because the fight was that close. To offset the "illusion" that Pac lost due to us being used to him walking over his opponents, we need to validate it quantitatively using CompuBox numbers.
