Ruiz has claimed in several interviews that he wasn't really hurt after getting knocked down - which allowed him to rock Joshua, who came in guns blazing with the belief that Ruiz was in serious trouble. And Joshua once again denies the chatter that he quit in the seventh round of the fight. "He was definitely hurt," Joshua exclusively told Sky Sports. "You don't go down unless you are hurt. It's such a difficult thing to say when you're fighting, because the adrenaline is high. A car probably could have gone into both of us, and we would have found a way to get up. I got put down four times, and got up

Round 11: Joshua jabs and moves again and Ruiz just can’t really close the distance enough. Joshua looks like he still has plenty in the tank to just jog out these last two rounds, and he appears intent on doing exactly that. Clean jab lands for Joshua upstairs. Ruiz misses on a right hand to the body just as Joshua gets pushes towards the ropes. Joshua 10-9.

Round 12: I’m guessing Joshua is going to do 30 laps around the ring in this final round. Both fighters meet center ring and once the bell rings Joshua is on the move. Ruiz comes forward but Joshua is smiling right before he throws a jab to the body. Clean right hand lands upstairs for Joshua. Joshua moves around again and looks for a jab to land — he doesn’t find it so moves to the other side of the ring. Joshua tries a check hook and pivots to the side. Right hand lands from Ruiz to the head but that’s not going to be nearly enough. Ruiz comes forward but Joshua takes a step back and throws a couple punches. Ruiz waves Joshua on but Joshua doesn’t care. Joshua 10-9.

Jerwin Ancajas had no trouble at all with Miguel Gonzalez tonight in Puebla, Mexico, dominating the fight en route to a sixth round stoppage, retaining his IBF 115-pound title in the ESPN+ co-feature. Ancajas (32-1-2, 22 KO) had Chile’s Gonzalez (31-3, 8 KO) coming at him quite gamely with a body attack, but the 27-year-old Filipino southpaw also made clear quite quickly that if Gonzalez wanted to play that game, it wasn’t going to work. He beat Gonzalez at his own game, made the challenger doubt himself early, and though Gonzalez wasn’t giving up on it all, it was clear he was outgunned against a superior fighter.
