Flash Elorde is great
Pancho Villa is greater than Flash Elorde
PacMan is greater than Pancho Villa.
I therefore conclude PacMan is the greatest asian boxer to date....

i just could'nt understand why he could become the greatest asian figther with 25 losses in his record, i agree he was truly the greatest asian figther in his time, but not of all time.

dude you are lost. i think you have mistaken him for elorde. elorde has 27 loss while pancho has only 5 loss.

it's not my fault, the threadstarter said he had a total of 105 fights , 75 wins . anyway, i still think he did'nt achieved much to be called the greatest asian fighter of all time.

ahhh shutup you cant even read!

if pancho villa didn't achieve much who do you think did and what kind of achievement does one need to attain to be considered GOAT?

you know what brothers, during Pancho's time, fighters had no luxury of getting the necessary rest and amount of time to train, that's why they rack-up fights in as many as 100s at a young age. fighters fight like several times a week, somtimes more than once a day. to be a champion at that time is not to be taken lightly. to be in Pancho's stature you have to be one of the greatest of all time. today people fight for money, during Pancho's time, boxers who thought they are the best face off each other in short notice. it was not as difficult as it is now to find out who reigns supreme in the ring as it is now that sanctioning bodies and promoters get in the way because of money and safeguarding the record of fighters. that's the difference between now and Pancho's time.

"today people fight for money....."

Didn't you think they did too during the time of Pancho Villa? If not, why did Pancho Villa had so much fights at the early age of 24? for the love of doing it or for money? Yes, the money then was less that is why to earned enough you have to really fight in volume to make both ends meet. Unlike now, wherein one fight can earned you a million dollars. That is why boxers protect themselves and their records very carefully now compared to the time of Pancho villa. Which only make sense to me One loss can affect your career unlike before.

It cracks me up when I read articles like this. No one will ever agree on one fighter. I like the idea though that a pinoy did well in those times. Imagine the conditions that he went thru in foreign lands. I'd put Pancho & Manny as my favorite pinoy athletes of all time.
