Roach Has Mixed Emotions Over Pacquiao's Victory

By Salvador Rodriguez

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has mixed emotions over Manny Pacquiao's revenge decision win over Timothy Bradley to capture the WBO welterweight title on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Bradley had won a controversial twelve round split decision over Pacquiao in June of 2012.

During the fight, there were things that Pacquiao did that Roach wasn't happy with. He feels Pacquiao can still improve in certain areas for the next fight - which is likely against the winner of the May 17th Juan Manuel Marquez-Mike Alvarado clash.

"I can not say he is back at his best because I didn't see that. We trained very hard for this fight, that's the truth, but there are still things missing. We were practicing some things in the gym that weren't implemented in the ring. To tell you the truth, I'm a little disappointed because of the way he fought at times. I thought he could do another kind of fight, other things," said Roach.

Pac was reaching too much.
He needed to cut down distance more often.
He needed to spin Bradley a little more too.
Pac fought to straight ahead too much .

But, he did make Bradley look like an id iot a lot of times.

^ could it be the cramps again that hindered his movements?

Could be just a case of "The mind is willing but the body is not" which is a natural thing when a fighter is getting old. :?

"Bradley was robbed!!!!" is what Roach is really saying.

I'm sure of this. Obviously, he won't openly admit it.

This fight reminded me a little like Pac vs Morales 3, Pac went in there not to box and wear Morales down, he came to take him out. I felt he tried that but Bradley is tough as nails and Manny did what a good veteran does and its to out work your opponent

I'm surprise he didn't go to the body more

It was a great exciting win against a solid top fighter, who came well prepared and knew what he was up against, a guy who beat Pac's tormentor

It's possible that Manny is training himself at this point in his career, not sure how Freddie is with his health, watching Manny do the mitts it wasn't the same when he fought Oscar/hatton/Cotto where he was smashing the mitts

I'm not sure if you don't get it or you're just a plain dumb. Roach was saying is that Manny was not even in his best form yet he dominated bradley that way. What more if Manny implemeted in the ring all that they have practiced.

Some people are just naturally slow to comprehend, and that includes you flash_jackson. better change your handle, it doesn't fit your IQ.

Blame it all on the pastor waking Pacman up every 5 am and keeping him late at night.

Fortune and Roach train and prime Pacman, and this pastor destroys the daily work.
