I am a Pinoy leaving in Canada and have been Manny's fan since 2001 when he demolished Lehlohonolo Ledwaba. As we all perhaps agree, prior to Manny's assent to where he is now as a boxer, icon and THE SOURCE of inspirations to all of us Pinoys all around the world, Philippines, our beloved country has been to a lot of difficult struggles and negative publications around the world. With Manny's successes in the ring right after that victory over Ledwaba, our country started to be known again this time in a very positive way. Everytime our flag is wave during Manny's fights, we all feel united and feel very proud to be Pinoys. Raising and waving our flag in front of the whole world have never happened that often in Olympics but through Manny, as if we have been winning Olympic golds every bow and then.
My wife and I have followed and watched Manny's fights live at MGM and Dallas Stadium andhaving met him in person made us realize that Manny indeed is a one-in-a-million type of person. Although we failed to come closer to him during those visits to MGM, Dallas Stadium and Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine, Texas, that did not discourage us or changed our mindset about him. It is enough for us to know that Manny is a great person who is humble, pro people and pro fan.
Luckily, when we visited Pinas in March 2012, we met Waki Salud by chance at
Waterfront Hotel and since we have previously met him in Texas for the Margarito Fight, I was brave enough to introduce myself to him. He invited us to watch Manny's award ceremony at Sofitel and finally there we go we were able to come close and personal to Manny, Jinky, Ariza, Freddie Roach and others.
The uniqueness of Manny Pacquiao has all the more been showcased by his KO loss to Marquez. The postfight interviews have shown to the whole world that Manny is the greatest ambassador of this sport they call Sweet Science. His sportsmanship in showing demeanor and graciously accepting defeat has earned him more fans all over the world and as Pinoys, we should be proud of him and hold on to his promise that PACQUIAO WILL RISE AGAIN!
See you all at MGM Grand in 2013.
should manny fight again...and you be able to get in touch with him again before his would be fight...pls tell him this..
1 his not that young anymore..next time he be more focus...avoid distructions...as pbf say...he be dedicated to his craft even just for hiswould be next fight..train in the US for considerable time and not in PH then finish it in US
2.he better be as catholic..yet should he prefer other faith..then so be it..he decide what best for him
3.just observed, that i think he go problems facing opponents having black colored globs...like jmm had in their recent two bouts...h maybe having difficulty seeing a globs coming in as punch...so to counter it..be best probably he should wear too a clored black globs should his foe prefer a such black globss...just an obervations thoough...did bradly had wore a balck globs agiant him...nonetheless he must be wearing a same black colored globs as that of jmm when they face each other again in 2013..
