Sabillo to make changes in fight vs. Estrada
http://www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/sports/2013/06/08/sabillo-make-changes-fight-vs-estrada-286446

MERLITO Sabillo usually fights aggressively and throws punches in bunches with disregard for getting hit in return.

However, against a world class counterpuncher in Jorle Estrada, Sabillo will incorporate a few changes in his approach.

“Yes, he is a counterpuncher. We can’t say Merlito’s aggressiveness is his advantage in this fight. We need to practice against a counterpuncher because if we will be aggressive all the time it might be to our disadvantage,” ALA Gym head coach Edito Villamor told Sun.Star Cebu. The unbeaten Sabillo defends his World Boxing Organization (WBO) mini-flyweight crown for the first time against Estrada in Pinoy Pride XXI at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila on July 13.

The styles of Sabillo and Estrada are totally opposite. Sabillo likes to slug it out and doesn’t want a fight to be decided by the judges. The 24-year-old Estrada likes to outbox his opponents and win fights by points. “His opponent is a stylish boxer, while Merlito is a boxer slugger. His opponent doesn’t rush in and waits patiently,” said Villamor.

Villamor, a former world title challenger in his heyday, has found Estrada’s Achilles’ heel and Sabillo will be targeting it all night long.

“His weakness is his body,” he said.

The 29-year-old Sabillo, who has won his last four fights by stoppage, is eager to defend his crown on home soil in his first main event fight in the popular Pinoy Pride series.
