He was a good fighter with KO power, but as I remember my dad commenting on the televised fight with the Japanese "...bawal ang pikon sa boksing, 'yan natalo tuloy..". I remember Cedeno leading on points, then he got tagged and tried to retaliate right away (he could've just danced to settle himself and remove the cobwebs in his head or just clicnhed) and walked right into a KO punch from his opponent. I'm sure bay Boholano has a VHS tape of this fight.

I remember Frank Cedeno winning the belt by ko charlie Magri of britain in round 5...however he didn't lost to a korean on his first title defense where he lost the title. he was stopped by a japanese name Koji Kobayashi in the 2nd round when they fought in Tokyo.

I remember Frank Cedeno clearly coz there was some sort of a jinx w/ the WBC Flyweight belt at that time. 7 champs lost their 1st defense. They are as follows: Antonio Avelar lost to Prudencio Cardona, Freddy Castillo, Elencio Mercedes, Charlie Magri, Frank Cedeno, Koji Kobayashi lost to Gabriel Bernal who finally broke the jinx by succesfully winning his 1st title defense. Now does anyone remember Rolando Pascua who beat then undefeated Champ Humberto Gonzalez. I still have that fight on tape. As soon as i learn how to transfer that to an mpeg, i'll upload it.

Just watched Cedeno's fight with Charlie Magri, what an exciting tussle that was. Cedeno is another largely forgotten champion who was great for a night. Cedeno couldn't miss all night with that left cross, Magri was a sitting duck for it. I wonder what Cedeno is up to now, he came from the era when Filipinos didn't have long title reigns, and just as soon as they won the title overseas, they lost it overseas the next bout out.
