Forget it! just dump marquez and fight EM or any credible fighter. What heck with the belt? Let's focus on money. Belt will come, manny is still young and wheteher JMM like it or not they will face each other. Sooner amnny will become the mandatory challenger. Besides JMM will be soon old.

They should pay both guys the same money as Barrera versus Morales. These guys gave everyone a good match in 2004, they deserve to get more.

Ciao

Both fighters deserve more than $1.5 IMO.
I mean, they're the absolute best that boxing, not just the division has to offer.

JMM's manager is just doing his job man, c'mon. If manny got P900,000 for the Fahsan fight, then fighting JMM should bring more than $1.5. That said, JMM deserves just as much dinero as PAC, because after all, he's the champ till Manny takes those belts away.l

The only thing that smells in this transaction is Arum, looks like the jerk is looking to screw team PAC again. Kill this ******!!!

I'm a Pinoy Pacman fan. Let's not kid ourselves that Marquez is avoiding Pacman at all cost. He's the champion and he would like to remove that stigma of a draw, complexed with a judge's scoring error. In other words, he wants to fight, that's his career. He is in business. As whether he deserves $1.5 million, maybe he does. But only if Pacman is going to get that much too. Honestly, I think if JMM fights Morales or Barrera the purse will be in the vicinity of $1.5 million.

In my opinion Marquez camp is asking for Retirement money or Avoiding Pacman. Pacman doesnt need Marquez to get paid with lots of money, there are manny options out there. As long as HBO agree on the fight (remember) Pacman can still be getting his money. So fight a different fighter with HBO's blessing then here we go and let Marquez fight different boxer and everytime Marquez has a boring fight and gets old by the days, It's no brainer that after 2005 or early 2006 Marquez will fight Pacquiao even in Manila.

Marquez got 750,000 USD vs PAC and Salido. In both fights, he was booed by the crowd. In the PAC fight, the crowd was for PAC. The guy who has the drawing power in a fight should be paid more. If Marquez gets more than PAC, I think PAC will be short ended. Anyway, if the Marquez camp insists on their unreasonable purse and PAC does not give way, I think the fight will not push through.

I share your opinion bro, JMM want's to prove he's better than Pacman. The problem here is, his camp want's a big purse coz they have reasons to believe that this fight will become JMM's last and also.. their last payday!

I hope they both get huge money, but it's kind of hard seeing how people last remember Marquez being booed in the boring salido fight.

I knew it!!! This fuckin' guy is ridiculous. Let him beg for garbage fight. Let's see how much he's gonna get. Forget him fight Morales instead. This is but another ploy to throw Pacman's training off-balance. Either that or he's chickening out now that he's tasted it. The irresistible force of Pacman firepower. Hey a**hole, throw the kitchen sink and everything u got. 'Coz retirement is just around the corner!!!

Don't think Marquez is ducking Pac. Stuff like this always come out before a big fight. Look at Hopkins/trinadad, Delahoya/Mosley.

Marquez just want the right compensation in all the fats he shred for his fight against PACMAN. Almost 4 months training 20,000 feet above sea level is no joke. He deserve the price, he want to show us a great fight in the start of 2005.
