PACQUIAO-MORALES SPECIAL PART II ON RPN 9
By Ronnie Nathanielsz
mannypacquiao.ph
March 10, 2005

With one week to go before the explosive showdown between Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao and Mexican icon Erik “El Terrible” Morales, excitement is building up like never before.

RPN 9 will add to the excitement with its telecast of the second, two-hour special “Coming With Everything” sponsored by SMART which will be aired from 1:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Fight fans will catch a few seconds of Morales sparring in the Otomi Ceremonial Center training camp plus shots of his workout which are normally off limits to TV cameras and will have a chance to see highlights of several of Morales’ fights and listen briefly to the comments of two men he beat Jesus Chavez and Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez plus his trainer-father Jose Morales.

Updated footage of Pacquiao in training at the Wild Card Gym plus highlights of the Fans Appreciation Day for the Filipino sports hero will spice up the show in which top boxing writers in the US also comment on the blockbuster fight.

Action-packed segments of the fights between Morales and Paulie Ayala and Marco Antonio Barrera and Ayala and Pacquiao’s annihilation of the legendary Mexican will help provide fans a chance to make a rational assessment of Pacquiao’s chances against Morales. The comparison will also show the devastating left straight of Pacquiao as opposed to the right of Morales and the Mexican's uppercuts.

An exclusive interview with Pacquiao's new manager Shelly Finkel plus interviews with promoters Bob Arum of Top Rank and Murad Muhammad of M&M Sports who put the blockbuster fight together will spice up the show. Its something that fight fans especially Pacquiao supporters shouldn’t miss.

I do hope that for once, we will be able to hear an in-depth analysis on the two boxers instead of simply watching replays of their previous fights. I also hope that the pre-fight analysis will be based on extensive research, and not simply "kwentong barbero."

Pare correction, hindi replay ito, it is actually the second of the two-part series of RPN 9. This second special mentioned a highlight of Morales-Ayala and MAB-Ayala which was not shown in the first part. Therefore, it would not be a replay of the first. Besides, the first part towards its ending said that there is a second part. This is a must see!

To our Filipino friends there in the USA, as shown in the first part last Sunday, RPN 9's TV crew went to the otomi mountains where Morales is setting his camp. They managed to get a glimpse and a video of Morales but El Terible was obviously holding back what he got. The video showed Morales having a a punch-mit workout with his trainer and a bit of work out on the heavy bag.

For Pacquiao, they showed Pac's sparring with Beltran, Jukko and another one big guy. You would not see the real Pac there but it is obvious he is conditioned and quite quick wiith his feet.

For our Pinoy fans here in Pinas, IBC-13 will show Pacman's preparation and workout at the Wildcard gym on Saturday March 19 from 9 or 10 pm. This telecast is supported by the Inquirer7.net. The sneak teaser for the program showed Pacman being punch repeatedly by conditioning coach Justin Fortune onto his bread basket that just after the set time expired, Pac shouted loud just to shake a bit the pain.

Pre, I am not connected with any media entity but I assure you the Gorres fight will be shown as undercard for the Pacman fight by Filipino TV version.

Gorres vs Guerro match will not be part of the PPV broadcast but that does not necessarily mean Philippine TV would not show it for us. Solar sports knows it well that many would clamor for the Gorres fight and they will pay HBO to give them the fight, besides, the Gorres fight is a cheap one by price for sure.

Philippine TV is known to cover big fights in the US for Filipinos mostly on RPN 9, one time there was a fighter that Pinoys has interest for which was an undercard to a certain major fight but not part of the PPV sked, but RPN 9 managed to get his fight and showed it as our undercard Pinoy version.

100% bro,the Gorres fight will be shown! And it will be our chief undercard Pinoy version for the Pac-Morales fight!
