We all know by now that Erik Morales is not one to brag, so whatever comes out of his mouth must be true and taken seriously. This was what Morales said to the press after the fight:

"It was a pleasure to fight the way that I fought tonight," said the three-division world champion. "I believe that I was controlling the fight from beginning to end. Sometimes I think that I need to add a little flavor to the fights so I exchanged blows with him in the middle of the ring. My main goal was to make the fight difficult for him. Manny was very tough, very strong and very fast and I am very greatful that I won the fight tonight.

When was asked about the punching power of Pacquiao, Morales responded, "I wasn’t bothered by his punching power, I was able to exchange punches with him."

"He’s a great a fighter, he’s a very great fighter but honestly I wasn’t hurt by his punches."

C'mon now unlike Marquez and Barrera, Morales was able to take Manny's punches. It was more about the style of Morales than Manny's punching power. Pacquiao couldn't get in and he wasn't able to land the big punch we all know he's capable of.

I agree but it will certainly take more than the gloves. Better strategy is key.

I haven't seen the fight, and just heard it through the internet on one of our AM station in the Phils. All I can say is hats off on EM for a job well done and I do hope pacman will do better the next time around.

IF MORALES WAS NOT AFRAID OF MANNY'S PUNCHING POWER, WHY DID HE FOUGHT A TACTICAL WAR. HE DID NOT BRAWL, AND WHEN HE GOT CAUGHT, HE WOBBLED.

Morales was never known to be a big puncher. It was all about exploiting your strengths and using it to your advantage, and that's what he did.

dont you ever give up??
the pacman's trademark is to knock down an opponent every fight he has been into
this time, he fails.
maybe the sellout story could be true

llidolyndon,

sure, morales got wobbled in the 12th and final round but he had pacman wobbled numerous times. in fact, i didn't think pacman was going to make it cause he was on wobbly legs. but due to his fighting spirit, he manned up to his credit.

Even a great warrior like Eric Morales can say some bullsh*it sometimes. You can see for yourself in round 12 where he almost went down when he changed to the southpaw stance. It was almost a costly mistake and blamed the ring that it was slippery. And back in round 1 when he almost did a Lucero for docking too low because he was hurting on a barrage of body punches. I was surprised Pacman never repeated the same attack again as he could have k.o'ed him right there.

Forget about the gloves. Will EM honor MP's challenge to a glove-less slugfest? Sabi nga ni Pac, he will fight Morales may gloves man o wala. But in the end, yes, EM won the battle, but let's see who will win the war. EM-PAC PART 2. aBANGAN![/b]

I just believe that this thread simply wanted us to entertain a notion whether or not Morales was hut or not. The question if Manny was hurt is out of the question.
