ALEC NATHAN JULY 9, 2017

The Houston Rockets announced Saturday that they signed James Harden to a four-year
contract extension that will run through the 2022-23 season.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst reported the extension is worth $170 million over

Very astronomical amount for a player who can't bring home the gold. 2cents.

` Today's nba contract for stars, superstars are just crazy,
except for a few who takes the 'Duncan contract' putting
premium on team composition, chemistry.

LEBRON JAMES COULD PUT TOGETHER A RIDICULOUS LAKERS SUPER TEAM,
ACCORDING TO BILL SIMMONS

BY TEDDY CUTLER ON 7/12/17 AT 8:40 AM
http://www.newsweek.com/lebron-james-jo ... ort-635382

Its the Simmons Conspiracy theory.

It’s no secret that LeBron James can opt out of the final year of his contract with the Cleveland
Cavaliers in the summer of 2018.

No secret, either, that the Oklahoma City Thunder have Paul George on a one-year rental. Or that
one of the NBA’s best players, DeMarcus Cousins, is with a franchise that looks, at best, several
years away from contending in the Western Conference. Or that John Wall becomes an unrestricted
free agent in the summer of 2019.

“What if I told you that 12 months from now, LeBron James, Paul George, John Wall, and
Boogie Cousins will all be on the Los Angeles Lakers together?” Simmons asks. “Conspiracy Bill
has some things that he doesn’t like about what’s going on. I think the LeBron James – L.A.,
he hasn’t come out and denied it.

Simmons explains further: “So, John Wall, represented by Klutch — Rich Paul — LeBron’s buddy.
LeBron, it’s pretty clear he either owns Klutch or funded it or has a stake in it. You could have
John Wall and LeBron. Paul George is going to the Lakers anyway. I mean, that’s not even a
secret anymore. It’s just like, they might as well start selling his jersey. And I always thought
John Wall and Boogie are a team.”

`Lakers super-team in 2018-2019 ?

wd support/role players - lopez, clarkson, randle, ingram, zubac, lonzo, nwaba

George talked Thursday about how the Warriors have changed the game.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2001 ... y-thompson

"We love being the alpha of our teams, but it's just not realistic that you're going to be able
to do it alone," George said.

"You need help in this league. Back in the day, that's what made the league. Guys were
winning championships, making their team better by themselves. They had pieces and they
had a lot of help. But the league was spread out.

"Now you've got guys teaming up; the landscape has shifted a bit. In order to compete against
that, you have to have guys that can compete at the same level as you. That's really what this
league has come down to.
[The Warriors] shifted the landscape a lot."

Boris Diaw's time in Utah turned out to be shortlived. The Jazz have waived the veteran forward after just one season, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Vertical. The final year of Diaw's contract was fully non-guaranteed if he was waived before July 15.

The Spurs have renounced free agent Jonathon Simmons, according to multiple sources, but the San Antonio Express-News reports that before rescinding their $1.6 million qualifying offer, San Antonio was in discussions with the Suns to deal Simmons for center Tyson Chandler. The Spurs reportedly backed out at the last minute, not wanting to absorb the two years and $26 million left on Chandler's contract.

The Rockets added another strong big man to their front court with Tarik Black. The former Lakers big man spent a brief moment of his career in Houston before he was waived for roster space. Black is a solid rim protector and energy guy, the exact type of player the Rockets like to have.

Derrick Rose Rumors: PG Reportedly Discussing 1-Year Contract with Cavaliers
MIKE CHIARI
JULY 20, 2017

ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday that the Cleveland Cavaliers
and point guard Derrick Rose are in "serious" talks regarding a one-year contract.

Per Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today, Cleveland could use a portion of the taxpayer mid-level exception or sign Rose to the veteran's minimum.

Zillgitt added that the maximum amount the Cavaliers could pay Rose in 2017-18 is $2.5 million

`Good addition if it happens.
