I have been a follower of the sweet science since I was 7 years old and have been witnessing the regression of the sport in the last decade.

For me, bad and controversial decisions once in a while (but sometimes comes so often) do not actually degrade the sport per se. They just make boxing fans around the world scratch their heads when such things happen.

What is not acceptable however, is when you reduce a combat sport like boxing into a hilarious and scripted-like match-ups with the only intention is to make a ton of money out of it. Take the recent Mayweather/Mcgregor drama. It was clearly a manufactured match-up using the social media and other marketing strategies to sell the novela.... and the fans bought it.

Now, some quarters are trying to inject a Jeff Horn/Mcgregor stand-up comedy. Well, if that is how we want to see the sport of boxing in the next decades there seem to be a need to create a new sanctioning body .... World Clown Boxing Organization (WCBO). Since Mayweather has finally " retired" he can be the President of this organization and perhaps collaborate with the WWE to make the matches more interesting.
