-- Last night's Boston-Orlando matchup, with the two top teams in the East meeting for the first time and the added drama of the Celtics' 8-0 record coming in, lived up to the hype.
The Celtics came back from 20 down, the Magic kept their cool and hit some big shots, and in the end, it came down to a three hoisted by Paul Pierce in the final seconds. The shot was off, the mighty Celtics suffered their first defeat and they won't be going 82-0.

Of course, Pierce probably should have taken the ball to the hoop, because there was a clear lane if he could get by his man. And Kevin Garnett should have gone right up with it when he rebounded Ray Allen's airball with 20 seconds to go, instead of kicking it out to Eddie House.

But that's nitpicking. And when it comes down to it, the Celtics lost by two points to a very good team on the road, and they've still got the best record (and the best defense) in the league.

The Celtics are back in the win column, as they routed the Warriors, 105-82, at the Garden on Wednesday.

As if to prove that their loss to the Magic on Sunday was a fluke, the Celtics dominated the game against the Warriors from start to finish. The Big Three again led the charge for Boston. Ray Allen scored 21 points, Kevin Garnett added 20 and Paul Pierce chipped in 19. Garnett and Pierce grabbed 10 rebounds apiece. 8)

Rivalry Renewed? C's, Lakers Battle at Garden

There's plenty to be thankful for on Causeway Street this season, as the Celtics took an NBA-best 9-1 record into the Thanksgiving holiday. Tonight, they return home to the Garden to host their classic rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.

While it's not quite expected to be a turn-back-the-clock game, and Larry Bird and Magic Johnson won't be walking through that door, the still-untraded Kobe Bryant and the 7-4 Lakers should provide plenty of competition. The game certainly has the city of Boston excited; tickets are absolutely sold out and the Garden should be buzzing with a familiar theme: "Beat LA!" 8)
