Nueva Ecija cop, suspect killed in anti-illegal drug operation
posted July 17, 2018 at 11:40 pm by Francisco Tuyay

A police anti-narcotic operative and a drug suspect were killed in a shootout following a buy-bust operation in General Tinio town in Nueva Ecija Monday night.

Central Luzon police director Chief Supt. Amador Corpus identified the slain policeman as P01 Mariano Emmanuel Caparas, a member of the General Tinio Municipal Police Station, while the dead drug peddler was identified only as a certain Abet.

Corpuz said P01 Caparas was on an anti-illegal drugs mission against a notorious drug peddler in Sitio Saudi, Barangay Pias in General Tinio when the drug suspect, sensing that he’s dealing with a law enforcer, drew his gun and fired at Caparas.

Corpuz said the suspect was subsequently gunned down when other members of the arresting team returned fire.

Caparas sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and was rushed to the Medicare Community Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Recovered at the crime scene were the policeman’s Glock 9mm pistol and 10 caliber 99mm spent shells, one deformed fired bullet, one black Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle with license plate 946-II and a heated-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.

“This is unfortunate news for us as one of our members was killed in line with our diligent efforts to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs and while nothing can make up for his loss, along with our deepest condolences, we assure his bereaved family that they will get the necessary benefits that is due them,” Corpuz said.

Despite the loss of one of his men, Corpuz said the illegal drugs campaign will continue.

“Still, we are committed in waging war against illegal drugs and we will continue to be relentless in our campaign at all costs,” he added.

PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde mourned the loss of Caparas who was killed in the line of duty.

“The death of PO1 Caparas will not diminish our keen resolve to accomplish the mission against illegal drugs and crime, rather, his heroism inspires us to continue the fight with deeper commitment and dedication,” Albayalde said.

He assured the immediate family of Caparas of all PNP benefits entitled to a legal dependent of police personnel killed in the line of duty.

Since the government launched its relentless drugs war, 87 policemen had been killed while performing anti-illegal drugs operations across the country.

On the other hand, over a thousand suspected drug personalities have been killed in various police operations since 2016.

6 killed, 74 nabbed, P11.6-M drugs seized in 'one-time, big-time' operations

KEVIN A. LAGUNDA
July 18, 2018

CEBU (Updated) -- Six people were killed and 74 others were arrested in the "one-time, big-time" operations conducted by Central Visayas police in three cities in Cebu on Wednesday, July 18.

Police Regional Office-Central Visayas Director Debold Sinas said they also seized P11.6-million worth of illegal drugs during the operations.

Among the drugs seized were 721 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P8.2 million, as well as P3.4-million worth or 8,520 fully grown marijuana plants that were uprooted in a mountain village in Balamban.

He said in Wednesday's operations, they served 22 search warrants, 30 warrants of arrest, and conducted 18 drug busts.

Among those arrested were drug personalities, said Sinas.

Three drug suspects were killed in Talisay City, two in Mandaue City, and one in Carmen.

One of those killed was Rodel Econas, 25, a motorcycle driver who was shot inside his house in Iba Lawis, Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, allegedly because he was holding a pistol.

Econas was included in the list of targets of the Police Regional Office Central Visayas one-time, big-time (OTBT) operation.

But Angelie Samatra, the live-in partner of Econas, said there was no drug bust, as two men wearing bonnets and a jacket kicked the door's house and started shooting.

Chief Inspector Cesar Misola, the team leader, denied the allegation. He said they shot the suspect after seeing him holding a gun.

In Talisay City, two suspected drug personalities were also gunned down.

Zebar Cancianco was killed in Barangay Lagtang, while Rene Fernandez was slain in Barangay Tangke.

Fernandez allegedly ran after noticing the presence of authorities. He was carrying a gun when he attempted to escape.

In Mandaue City, a certain Niño Macachur was killed in Barangay Tabok, while a still unidentified person from Guizo, also in Mandaue City, is in critical condition.

In Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, the incumbent councilman of Barangay Casili, Consolacion, was among the five drug personalities caught by the operatives of Guadalupe Police Station early morning, Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Junie Gungob, is the son of former Consolacion mayor Avelino Gungob.

Operatives seized some P600,000 worth of illegal drugs during the raid.

Gungob said the illegal drugs were planted. The operatives, he said, mauled him and the other suspects.

Guadalupe Police Chief Eduard Sanchez denied the allegations. He said they found Gungob sniffing illegal drugs with the other suspects.

Sanchez said the raid was authorized by a search warrant issued by Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 11 Judge Ramon Daomilas Jr.

The target was Clint Fernandez, who was also arrested with his live-in partner Aileen Bornales.

Sanchez said they are checking a report that Bornales is a relative of slain drug lord Jeffrey "Jaguar" Diaz.

In Mananga II, Talisay City, arrested were Janjan Terana, 19, Arjay Cabaral, 26 and Marlito Enfante, 21.

Two drug suspects were arrested in Minglanilla town. These were Reynante Cano and Tiejun Cano, Minglanilla Police Chief Verniño Noserale said.

Seized from them were 0.92 gram of white crystals believed to be shabu worth P10,856 and two .38 revolvers loaded with three bullets each.

In Danao City, three suspected drug personalities were arrested.

At 2:05 a.m., Jory Batucan Segovia was arrested in Sitio Tabunok, Barangay Maslog.

By 3:30 a.m., Ricky Tarnate Gica Jr. and Joseph Perales were caught in Sitio Masdan, in the same barangay.

More than P8,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized from the suspects. (With reports from SuperBalita Cebu)

CEBU CITY – A son of a former Cebu town mayor was among five people arrested in an antidrug operation in Barangay Guadalupe, this city.

But Junie Gungob, son of former mayor Avelino Gungob of Consolacion town, denied that several sachets of shabu seized during the raid belonged to him and his companions.

Gungob, who is also a councilman of Barangay Casili in Consolacion, claimed that the drugs were planted and that they were even beaten up by the raiding team.

Arrested with Gungob were Clint Fernandez, his common-law wife Aileen Bornales, and two men whose identities were still being verified.

Fernandez was the subject of the raid by policemen who swooped down on his house on M. Velez Street, just at the back of the Department of Agriculture office.

Bornales is said to be a distant relative of Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz, an alleged top drug lord in the Central Visayas who was slain by policemen in Las Piñas City in 2016.

The suspects were detained at the Guadalupe police station pending the filing of charges. /cbb

Pulse Asia found a “sizeable” majority of Filipinos or about 69 percent considering the efforts of the present administration to eliminate the proliferation of illegal drugs in the country as its most important achievement since assuming office in 2016.

I'm just saying the truth...

Anong kwenta ng mahigit 20~50B worth of drugs na nasabat the past 3 years...

102,630 anti-drug operations have been conducted nationwide from July 2016 to June 30..
147,802 drug personalities arrested including 229 elected officials, 52 uniformed personnel and 245 government employees
4,354 drug suspects have been killed for resisting arrest and for fighting with the arresting officers...

Ano ngayon? meron namang namatay...
Dapat hayaan na ang drugs na dumami kesa mamatay pa ang 4, 354 katao...
Sayang ang buhay nila...

PDEA confiscates P6 million shabu
Romina Cabrera (The Philippine Star) - July 27, 2018 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines — More than P6 million worth of shabu was seized from three alleged pushers, including a retired police official, in separate operations in Valenzuela and Caloocan on Wednesday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized 500 grams of shabu, with a street value of P3.4 million, from alleged courier Kaoki Diyongal Sumaginadin during a sting at a hotel in Valenzuela.

Her alleged supplier, retired senior inspector Ambedkhar Jammad Arajil, and his son Eddie Inian Arajil were arrested in a follow-up operation in Caloocan.

Around 500 grams of shabu and marked money were seized from them.

In Navotas, construction worker Jerry Boy Dimaliwat, 33, was about to sleep Wednesday night when two men wearing masks barged into his house, dragged him out and shot him in the head.

His mother, Evangelina, said her son – who promised to quit using illegal drugs – shouted “Ma, pulis!” although the armed men were wearing civilian clothes.

While a police report said only two unidentified assailants barged in, Evangelina said she saw three men waiting for their companions to bring her son outside. – Marc Jayson Cayabyab
