pro: gaganda ang communication sa bansa kasi me legit na competitior in China Telecom.
con: hindi na kelangan ng china makinig from outside, or patago kung within the country, sa mga usapan ng pinoy. they will have a permanent ear in our own country to listen to our calls.

siguro kung babawasan yung transparency 50% less watermark effect lang then palitan na lang PH flag mas ok para di palit ng palit ng design kada palit ng presidente.
PRRD have set the tone so we are expecting sana na hindi din siya epal like most ng mga pinuna niya noon. Still small issue lang ito.

Palace says Duterte not behind OFW ID design
By Alexis Romero (philstar.com) | Updated December 11, 2017 - 8:28pm

President Rodrigo Duterte's photo on the migrant workers' IDs earned criticism online, with some people on social media describing it as a handiwork of a "hypocrite" or an "epal," a term referring to a person seeking attention. Mocha Uson/Facebook

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte had nothing to do with the placing of his photo on the government-issued identification card for overseas Filipino workers, Malacañang said Monday.

Duterte's photo on the migrant workers' IDs earned criticism online, with some people on social media describing it as a handiwork of a "hypocrite" or an "epal," a term referring to a person seeking attention.

Others pointed out that the photo of the president was bigger than that of the owner of the ID.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque believes Duterte was not behind the design of the ID.

"Did he (Duterte) not order the removal of his photo in offices? I don’t think he knew about this," Roque said.

Roque was referring to Memorandum Circular No. 25 ordering agencies to display photos or paintings of heroes instead of elected officials. The memorandum was issued on Sept. 15, 2017.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III told ABS-CBN News Monday that the ID design was an initiative of his agency.

“I just want to underscore the concern of the President for the welfare of our workers," the labor chief said.

PH visited by over 5-M int’l tourists from January to October – DOT
Published December 12, 2017, 7:23 PM
By Charina Clarisse Echaluce

More than five-million international tourists have visited the Philippines within the first 10 months of 2017, the Department of Tourism (DOT) disclosed today.

According to the tourism department, there was a total of 5,474,310 international arrivals from January to October this year; noting a marginal increase of 11.54 percent compared with what was recorded in the same period last year, which was 4,908,017.

It was disclosed that international visitor arrivals continue to increase with the influx of Chinese tourists, becoming the second largest in number to come to the country. To note, compared with last year’s figures for the same period, Chinese arrivals jumped 39.28 percent while India visitors rose 20.28 percent.

“With the surge in Chinese and Indian arrivals, we are optimistic to hit the target of at least 6.5 million as set by the National Tourism Development Plan for 2017-2022,” Tourism Secretary Wanda Corazon Teo said.

Meanwhile Teo disclosed that South Koreans remain the country’s top visitors with 1,332,141 arrivals, representing 24.33 percent of the total arrivals; followed by China with 810,807 arrivals, comprising 14.81 percent of the market share.

“The department will continue an aggressive marketing efforts, including through social media. We will promote emerging or developing destinations to entice more visitors from across the globe,” the DOT chief assured.

The DOT recently launched the “It’s More Fun in the Philippine Farms” and revived the “Bring Home a Friend” program as part of its strategy to reach 12-million tourist arrivals by 2022.
