para maintindihan ang konek, then ang mga argumento have to be checked (rhyming pa  ).

paraphrasing it :

the Dengvaxia procurement made by the Aquino administration was riddled with corruption that it was continued for the next 18 months when the Duterte administration took over.

11-year-old’s family worries of Dengvaxia link after boy dies of dengue
Published January 25, 2018 9:51am

An 11-year-old boy’s family demands accountability after the otherwise healthy child died of dengue months after he received the first dose of the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia.

According to a report by Victoria Tulad on Unang Balita on Thursday, the boy, AJ Bautista, died of the disease at 1 a.m. Wednesday.

He was rushed to the Valenzuela Medical Center last Saturday after complaining of a headache and a sore throat on Friday.

AJ is said to have received a Dengvaxia shot in August 2017.

Sotto questions PAO’s forensic expertise in Dengvaxia probe

“Is [the] Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) now a medical group?”

Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III asked this question to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, who faced the Commission on Appointments during his confirmation hearing on Tuesday.

“The last time I heard, the PAO is under the DOJ (Department of Justice), not the DOH (Department of Health),” Sotto said.

“So if we want to build a solid case like you mentioned, we charge you, set your foot down if you’re going to be Secretary of Health, set your foot down and make the DOH the lead into these investigations, especially scientific investigations.”

”Because kung hindi maganda ang background nung investigation or even nung nagi-imbestiga , hindi mga scientific experts talaga, pagdating sa korte patay tayo. Dun tayo matotodas bigla…,” he added.

Before this, Sotto questioned PAO’s expertise in examining the bodies of alleged victims of anti-dengue vaccine, Dengvanxia, which was administered to individuals, including children, under a DOH program that was first implemented during the past administration.

“Sino ba nagi-imbestiga? Sino bang mga experts ang nagi-imbestiga dyan sa Dengvaxia… Do we have government-authorized forensic experts already? Kasi ang balita namin one of those investigating is the Public Attorney’s Office,” he said.

“I don’t know how come the PAO is investigating scientific, medical issues. I was told and I read in an article, there’s no such thing as forensic experts in the PAO…,” the legislator also noted.

Duque explained that there are two experts of panel investigating the issue — the technical experts and the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), which is set to release its report on Friday.

Duque also said that as far as he knows, the PAO is representing the alleged victims of Dengvaxia vaccine.

“I guess the PAO’s agenda is to build a solid case which they hope to file in behalf of the parents of the victims,” Duque said.

“They are also doing a forensic analysis of exhumed bodies…,” he added.

Duque said they had already sent letters to the PAO, requesting for its findings on the issue so they could submit it to the UP-PGH for cross-examination.

Physicians, scientists dismayed at handling of Dengvaxia fiasco
By: Julius N. Leonen - @inquirerdotnet

Dengvaxia vials

A group of physicians and scientists has issued a statement expressing dismay at how the controversy surrounding the anti-dengue Dengvaxia vaccine has started to “erode” public confidence in the country’s vaccination programs.

The statement, which was emailed to media outfits, was signed by 58 doctors, including former Health secretaries Esparanza Cabral and Manuel Dayrit.

“The unnecessary fear and panic, largely brought about by the imprudent language and unsubstantiated accusations by persons whose qualifications to render any expert opinion on the matter are questionable, at best, have caused many parents to resist having their children avail of life saving vaccines that our government gives,” the statement read.

“Even deworming efforts are being met with suspicion and resistance, with many parents afraid to give consent; all because of the misinformation that has been allowed to take hold of the collective psyche,” the group said.

The group said that if the trend would continue the public might face outbreaks of “debilitating and life-threatening diseases” that the government would be able to control through vaccination programs.

The only way to continue to prevent deadly epidemics of infectious diseases, the group said, would be to sustain a high rate of immunization or vaccination in the population.

“This will not be possible if parents refuse to consent to vaccination for their children because of fear,” the group said.

The group also lamented how some “hard working, competent, honest and dedicated” physicians and career personnel in the Department of Health (DOH) were “maligned and deprived of their right to defend themselves.”

“Available documentary evidence that might have been offered to prove the innocence of some of the accused has not been made public for reasons that we can only speculate on. The public hearings have become avenues for “expert bashing” rather than a genuine search for truth,” the group said.

Moreover, the group stressed that “there is no such thing as a perfect vaccine.”

“The history of vaccination from the 18th century to the present is rife with controversy. A study of the history of these controversies teaches us lessons about the tragic consequences and harm to the general public that result when we allow hysteria to rule over logical and scientific judgment,” according to the group.

The group also expressed support in the DOH’s decision to suspend the Dengvaxia immunization program until there would be a quick cost and effective way to determine whether a person has had dengue in the past or not.

But the group also urged the DOH not to remove Dengvaxia from the market.

“Already we are faced with patients who have had dengue infection in the past, who are now at a loss because they cannot get their doses of Dengvaxia because it has been taken out of the market,” it said.

The group also urged their colleagues in the medical profession to be careful about “unfairly slandering colleagues by careless, sweeping and unsubstantiated accusations.”

“We urge those who have documentary evidence that can truly shed light on the current controversy to please come forth with the truth. And we beg our legislators to be open to hearing both sides,” the group said.

“Allowing half-truths to prevail is dangerous. It not only causes persistent confusion but has also caused mass demoralization among the dedicated and hard working personnel and physicians of the DOH. This is both cruel and unjust,” it said.

Boy suspected of being latest Dengvaxia victim undergoes autopsy – PAO
BY JING VILLAMENTE ON JANUARY 25, 2018

ANOTHER reported death related to Dengvaxia was recorded in Valenzuela City on Thursday, with forensic experts from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) conducting an autopsy on the victim — an 11-year-old boy.

PAO Chief Persida Acosta said the body of AeJay O. Bautista, a resident of Gemini Street Greenville Subdivision in Valenzuela City was still undergoing forensic examination.

The victim was brought by his parents at the Odessa Funeral Parlor in Bagbaguin, Caloocan City. They immediately informed PAO about their situation, prompting Acosta to send her team for an autopsy and provide legal aid to the family.

Bautista will be added to the list of PAO aided victims of sudden death after being vaccinated with Dengvaxia.

PAO forensic experts said they have found a link between the deaths of children and the controversial dengue vaccine.

About 830,000 schoolchildren had been vaccinated by at least one dose of Dengvaxia before the Department of Health (DoH) on December 1 stopped the P3.5-billion immunization program that had been run with the Department of Education.

This was after Sanofi Pasteur, the French pharmaceutical company that developed Dengvaxia, announced that the vaccine worsened symptoms on people who had no previous exposure to the dengue virus.

UPDATE: 2 more children dead, 52 others hospitalized after receiving Dengvaxia, says monitoring team
BY THE MANILA TIMES ON JANUARY 28, 2018

TWO more children from the provinces of Quezon and Laguna died on Sunday while 52 others were hospitalized after receiving the defective anti-dengue vaccine , according to the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) and the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).

Dante Jimenez, Chairman of the VACC, said he got the information from the joint monitoring team of the VACC and the PAO in charge of monitoring children who were given Dengvaxia.

“They (monitoring team) are now verifying the incidents and the PAO forensics is expected to conduct an autopsy on the victims either today (Sunday) or tomorrow (Monday),” Jimenez said in an interview with The Manila Times.

The VACC chair did not provide further details on the victims as respect to their families.

Meanwhile, 52 children, first-time dengue victims, who were given Dengvaxia, have been admitted to the San Lazaro Hospital in Manila since Friday, PAO Chief Persida Acosta told The Manila Times.

Acosta said that some of those who were confined came from Iloilo where they received the anti-dengue drug that had endangered rather than protected the lives of its recipients.

“Similar ang findings…’yung mga bata nahihilo, nilalagnat, sumasakit ang katawan at may nakitang mga rashes sa kanila,” she said.

( . . . the children felt nausea, had fever, experienced body pains and developed rashes.)

These are known to be symptoms of dengue, Acosta said.

Acosta questioned anew Sanofi Pasteur, the French pharmaceutical giant that manufactured the anti-dengue drug, as to why there was no screening or clinical trial on the drug.

The PAO chief added that forensic examinations and clinical records showed that 11 bodies have been investigated, the last being a victim from Calamba in Laguna.

When asked about PAO’s next steps, Acosta said that her office was conducting proper legal measures on the matter.

“’Yung affidavits of complainants, complete na. Documents are being consolidated for the filing of charges against those who are behind this,” Acosta said.

The VACC said that 830,000 children from public schools in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Central Luzon and Cebu have been given Dengvaxia since 2016 when the administration under then president Benigno Aquino 3rd purchased P3.5 billion worth of vaccines for its anti-immunization program.

More than 300 affected families had sought PAO’s assistance. JEFFERSON ANTIPORDA, GLEE JALEA

Dengvaxia is like Death March – Bishop
BY ERNIE B. ESCONDE ON JANUARY 29, 2018

BALANGA CITY, Bataan: Bishop Ruperto Santos of the Diocese of Balanga on Monday likened the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine to the Death March during World War 2.

“Dengvaxia is like the infamous Death March because of the fear of sickness and death walks in the province,” he said after learning of the death of Alexzander Jaime of Puerto Rivas Itaas in his city.

Thousands of Filipino and American soldiers died after they surrendered to Japanese forces on April 9, 1942 and were forced to walk from the province to San Fernando, Pampanga all the way to the concentration camp in Capas, Tarlac.

Jaime,12, who got the doses of the vaccine last year died, on January 4. His parents believed Dengvaxia caused his death. Forensic experts of the Public Attorney’s Office conducted an autopsy on the body of the boy before he was buried. The findings show similarity to other children whose deaths were linked to Dengvaxia vaccine.

At least five deaths linked to the dengue vaccine were reported since October last year. The first one was that of Christine Mae de Guzman, 10, from Mariveles in Bataan. All victims complained of severe headache and fever and died a few days after.

“It is with great sorrow and tragic loss that there is again another life that perished, that of Alexzander Jaime, because of the disastrous Dengvaxia,” the prelate said.

He described the vaccine as dubious, triggering unending anxieties and worries among parents of vaccinated children.

He asked that truth must come out. “There could be deception and dishonesty, conspiracy and corruption with those in the higher ups motivated by greed, profit and political interests at the expense of our innocent children,” Santos said.

The bishop said the children should be the first and foremost protected. “They should not be experimented nor sacrificed but to be taken cared of and not to be used nor abused,” the representative of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines in Central Luzon said.

He also called for the Senate hearings to continue and produce unbiased and truthful results.

Still no cases of severe dengue at PCMC —spokesperson
Published February 1, 2018 1:41pm
None of the children brought to the Philippine Children's Medical Center (PCMC) have so far developed severe dengue, despite having received the controversial anti-dengue Dengvaxia vaccine.

This was the assurance made by Dr. Sonia Gonzales, spokesman of the PCMC, which is among the hospitals accomodating dengue-vaccinated children worried about the possible ill-effects of the Dengvaxia.

PCMC was the entity that made the actual procurement of the controversial dengue vaccines manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur.

"Sa ngayon, wala kami nakukuhang severe dengue na para sabihin nating shocked or kailangan ng Iintensive Care Unit (ICU) care," Gonzales said in a Super Radyo dzBB interview on Thursday.

She said out of around 100 to 150 patients brought to them daily, none have manifested symptoms of severe dengue. The worst that some patients complained about was having fever.

An earlier report said about 14 of more than 400 patients admitted to the PCMC from January 3 to January 19 who received Dengvaxia were confirmed to have dengue, but not severe dengue.

Some 26 out of the 839,000 individuals who received Dengvaxia died in the past year. It is still unknown how many died from dengue infection because the study of the health department on the matter has yet been concluded.

Gonzales encouraged those worried about their children's health after receiving Dengvaxia to have them check not only at the PCMC, but at any government hospital or health center.

Asked what would be the effects if a person was not able to complete the three rounds of Dengvaxia vaccination, Gonzales said: "Kung nakaisa ka lang o dalawa, eh 'di hindi mo makukuha ang [supposedly] full benefit noong vaccine."

The PCMC can be reached at 588-9900. — MDM, GMA New
