Ang educational system kasi natin hindi nka align sa ibang bansa, isa din sa reason yan.. Pero ngayon nka align na tayo kasi K-12 na..

yes, that's why i think it's better to amend the CPD law to re-align din sa capability ng school's or educational system natin. kasi we are all a product of our educational system.

So agree tayo DR na hindi CPD ang sagot on how to eradicate seamen without maritime course or degree.
The solution to that is not to hire or terminate those who are not indeed seamen...
If termination is no longer possible, assign them in land jobs and don't allow them to sail...
Seamen trainings are just after money and not additional knowledge...

OK let's say it is not racism..
Do you think CPD will address that?
A BIG NO...
We have to align with their curriculum and educational system so we will be accredited.
Improve the schools to be at par with their facilities...
Have a MOA/MOU with them that our graduates be hired as we are following their system..
Kasi if you will not align with them, no matter how many CPD points you will have, you will never be hired.

BTW, bakit naghire sila ng teachers from us if our educational quality is poor?
Kailangan ba nila na may CPD ang teachers bago i-hire?

Masters naman yung sample mo DR..
Hindi na yan basic..
Syempre, dun ka mag masteral kung saan merong facilities which will fit your need..
So mga ganyang equipment or machines tinuturo during seminars na may CPD or hindi?

If CPD is to make our professionals at par with foreign nationals para ma hire sa ibang bansa, ilang percent ng professionals ang mag-aabroad?
Hindi nga siguro aabot ng 10%..
You burden the remaining 90% for the sake of 10%?
If you want to go abroad, earn CPD points if that's the requirement..
Don't make it mandatory..
Pera pera lang talaga...

i think the point i am trying to say is that we contributed to the kind of standard we have where we are lagging witho our neighbors. like unqualified people getting a job as seaman or a very good graduate seeking other places to continue studies due to the inadequacies of our school system.

i guess the CPD law may look like an agency that demands a sarao jeepney to be 'maintained' in order to meet the standard of a 'ferrari'. we can agree that we can only maintain the jeepney to a certain level, certainly not to the level of a ferrari. we have to have a plan wherein we will eventually don't have the dilemma of maintaining a jeepney to attain a 'ferrari' standard.

Hehe...ang layo ng sagot...

Simplify natin DR...

If meron kang CPD points, will that guarantee na you will be hired?

i think mas malayo ito since you are now equating the CPD law to sure employment. of course it does not guarantee.

if you renew your drivers license, or successfullly upgraded it from non-pro to pro, does it mean that you are guaranteed employment?

no, but when the opportunity comes for an employment looking for a driver with a 'pro' license, it assures you that you met one requirement.

i think overall our ideas are aligned. the only difference is that it is to your opinion that we don't need to raise the 'level' that the CPD law is requiring the professionals to do. because for you most are not seeking employment abroad or our level is already at par with other countries, we're just a victim of racism and the likes.

Where did I say that we don't need to raise the level of our professionals?

So having CPD will guarantee you are raising the level of professionals?

not a guarante, but the aim. that's the purpose of this CPD law (which you disagree with).

basa :

Quote:
Sec. 2. Declaration of Policy. – It is hereby declared the policy of the State to promote and upgrade the practice of professions in the country. Towards this end, the State shall institute measures that will continuously improve the competence of the professionals in accordance with the international standards of practice, thereby, ensuring their contribution in uplifting the general welfare, economic growth and development of the nation.
