I wouldn't say na puro kalokohan lang ang epekto ng batas na ito...but in my point of view, this law is realy an added burden to all working professionals... :(

Points can only be earned if you join seminars / conventions sponsored by PRC recognized professional organizations...

See the burden?

Case to case basis kasi ang cpd.

Like for accountants, if you are not signing financial statements for public consumption, or napunta ka sa IT or accounting software na company, factor lang ang license e pero di sya mag matter. Mga kasamahan ko rito wala nang magrenew.

Accountants need 100 CPD points in 2018 just to renew their license?
And 120 points in 2019 onwards...

Yung company namin, they verified with prc kung yung mga trainings namin e counted. Buti yung iba counted.

I think 1 unit is 1 hour?

So 120 hours training.

Ngayon gagawa ka ng essay stating the things that you have learnt and what you should have done.

Good if 1 hour equals 1 CPD point...
That means yung 120 hours mo is just equivalent to 15 days na training...
But kadalasan hindi 1 is to 1 ang ratio...
What is 15 days...
Will the company shoulder all related expenses?
Paano pag hindi? so VL ang empleyado...

To be shouldered by the professional unless the company is so generous to share/answer all related expenses...
Good for me kasi in my line of work, I can allocate budget for seminars of personnel to earn CPD points...
But what about for those who are barely surviving and the company will not answer anything???

8 hours training/seminar na sponsored by a legit professional org to be held somewhere in Albay...
That overview will just earn 4 CPD points...
Imagine if you really want to earn some points...
You will spend say 1000 for the registration..another for hotel and transpo...may meals pa..
And you have to take VL just to join...
Justified ba to just learn about the overview of ISO 9001?
Take note of the word : OVERVIEW

Samantalang ako, I am a certified IMS auditor...
I have more than 100 hours training for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS...
No CPD points kasi the trainer and certifying body is not accredited to PRC and prof org.. :(

Kaya nga for me burden at kalokohan lang yan.

Sino ba nakaisip niyan? :biglaugh:

if i am not mistaken, ang standard na ito ay implemented na ng matagal sa mga seafarers natin. yearly me training/seminar, continuous yan.

we need to be at par with the other countries. like i know a citizen from Germany, where he got his degree on Electrical engineering. he works as such in the US. while mga pinoy engineering grads, cannot practice as such. correct me if i am wrong but it is the same with our doctors, di pwede malipat at magpractice sa US at ibang bansa as one. our nurses or physical therapists have to pass a state board...

I agree with seaman na meron silang yearly training/seminar..
Pero is it really necessary to extend it to all professionals?
Is this the only way to make us at par with counterparts from other countries?
What if sa Pinas ka lang naman nagtatrabaho and you're not planning to work abroad?

Tanginang project management at estimate yan. :D

Accomplishment pala yun?

Note that the intent is Continuing Professional Development...
Pero ayaw i-acknowledge ang mga trainings dahil not from accredited organizations??
I have trainings that I doubt organizations can give...or will even give to help develop my professional life...

May training ako dati wherein si Capt. Marcial Amaro III (sacked MARINA Administrator) ang instructor...
5 days training about barko, IMO, safety, etc...
And I am not even a seaman...
And because that training is not in line with my profession, I am no longer continuing my professional development???

I have a seaman friend who asked for assistance dahil kailangan nya ng thousands of pesos para sa certification para makapagbarko ulit...

Sa Civil Engineering, dapat may training about Construction Safety...
That's 40 hours training to help improve safety in construction sites...

I have such training pero hindi naman ako CE...
I have also undergone Project Management for 3 days...
But I will get no points for it kasi hindi naman in line with my profession and ang nagturo is not PRC accredited...
And lumalabas I am not really into professional development...

Mahirap gawin yan mang Jabz,
nakakatamad nang bumalik sa dinaanan natin.
At saka pag may trabaho ka na, yong spare time
mo , dayoffs at vacation days , you'll want to spend it with
your friends and family.

So I would say No to CPD! :D

It is a law na mang tamby...
Kaya if you are planning to renew your engineering license dito sa Pinas, you will be required to produce CPD points..
If not, then hindi ka ire-renew...
