I have 3 mechanical engineers in the office.
Yung national convention is malapit lang sa amin.
And sabay-sabay silang tatlo humingi ng permission to join the convention to earn CPD points..

Kung papayagan ko ang isa, magagalit naman yung iba..
Kung hindi ko papayagan silang lahat, mas lalong magagalit..
Kung papayagan ko naman, sino magmi-maintain ng equipment namin?

This is the problem of most companies...
Mga personnel will go on training/leave sabay-sabay just to earn CPD points..
Take note...TO EARN CPD POINTS..
And to earn such points, you have to pay, you leave your work, etc...

I honestly think this law is what we need in the Philippines...

Ganun talaga mentality ng mga pabigat sa lipunan. Yung iba imbes na tumulong eh puro reklamo lang ang ginagawa. Wala man lang maiambag, kahit man lang sana.....

..... opinyon.

Senate Bill No. 2073, an act to abolish the CPD Law approved in the Senate

MANILA – Good news to all professionals! An act repealing the CPD Law was approved in the Senate.

Senate Bill No. 2073 known as an “Act Repealing Republic Act No. 10912,Otherwise Known as the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Act of 2016,” has been approved in the Senate on third and final reading.

The passage of the law will repeal all other laws, executive orders, resolutions, rules and regulations and other issuances pertaining to RA 10912. The act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.

Ever since it became a law, many professionals have been clamoring to repeal the CPD law due to the high costs of trainings, seminars, or other activities undertaken that is related to their professions to earn the necessary CPD units. Thus, the act was deemed to make the process costly, more bureaucratic, and unnecessarily regulative.

Maganadang balita ito sa mga hinde poser

I don't really get the point that in order to continue your development as a professional, you need to earn CPD points...
Really?

Example natin ang seaman..
Pag end ng contract, para makasakay ulit, need ng schooling..
Pero dapat sa ganitong school lang kasi ito lang accredited or else walang kwenta ang certificate if sa ibang training centers galing ang certificate..
Common feedback...wala namang bagong itinuro...
Title lang ang nagbago pero same same lang ang content...
In SHORT, pera-pera lang talaga...

agree ako kay donya roberta na i-amend lang at wag i-abolish
one of the areas na tinitingnan na competency among professionals yung cpd units earned

ang sistema kasi, all encompassing ang batas on to earn cpd points
yung number of years in practice mo eh parang balewala lang
say, an engineer who is in practice of profession for 30 years na mag eexpire na ang lisensya will need the same cpd points ng engineer na 1st time magrerenew ng lisensya

baka yung years of experience, ma consider din para mabigyan ng points

Let me give you another example..
An electornics engineer working as a safety practitioner of a construction company which specializes in road construction...
Does that mean he is not developing his professional career?
