Walang Luzon empire mod.

Independent yung mga kingdoms from each other.

Although some of them had varying degrees of rivalry and alliances.

The Ilocanos had their own, the Kapampangan had their own, The Tagalogs had their own, etc.

Even the Igorots have their own territory.

Kaya hindi pwede yung "Luzon empire". Kasi walang papasakop at walang mananakop. Nobody is strong enough to impose their will over the other.

Saka kung may Luzon empire dapat hindi sila ganun kadali natalo ng combined forces ng Spaniards, Boholanos and Cebuanos. Yung kingdom of Tondo.

Sa laki ng Luzon, if there is such a thing as an empire, then they would have easily repelled it. Kaso hindi, kasi wala.

If you ask me...

Ang istorya ng Pilipinas is like that of an unfinished book.

Hindi pa tapos isulat yung kwento natin as a people ng manunulat, nang biglang pumasok sa eksena yung mga banyagang mananakop at inagaw yung lapis at hinay-jack yung kwento from the author. Hijacked our destiny as a people.

Just look at China they were united by their first emperor Qin. He unified the so called warring states.

Japan was unified by their shogun Tokugawa.

Korea had Chosun.

Indonesia had Sri Vijaya and Majapahit.

Cambodia had the Khmer empire.

Mongolia had Genghis Khan.

All of them were able to finish their story, before the arrival of the invaders from the west.

Malas pa natin natapat sa atin e yung Spanish. Who were known to destroy the civilizations of their conquered territories. :(

The Spanish and Portuguese systematically destroyed any sign of civilization of the Aztecs, Incas and Mayans in America.

`One important element in the establishment of an empire, later into a widespread civilization,
is the 'birth' or coming of a great leader, able to unite different tribes and kingdoms into a strong,
unified and centralized form of governance or rule.

Language/dialects and distance of the tribes/kingdoms from one another is never a hindrance nor
a barrier for a determined and strong leader to unify his rule, as several empires and civilizations
have shown.

Having a strong, unified empire under a strong able ruler is one way of deterring foreign colonizers
or any other foreign empires, though history tells us no empires nor civilizations last forever.

unfortunately, this form of 'unified governance' has never been evident in our history.

:)

How did Dagohoy lead an indepedent Bohol for a century with the Spaniards just a short boat ride away in Cebu? He must have been a good leader and administrator. :D

Whenever history's accuracy is discussed this line from Shindler's list comes to mind -

Amon Goeth: Today is history. Today will be remembered. Years from now the young will ask with wonder about this day. Today is history and you are part of it. Six hundred years ago, when elsewhere they were footing the blame for the Black Death, Casimir the Great - so called - told the Jews they could come to Krakow. They came. They trundled their belongings into the city. They settled. They took hold. They prospered in business, science, education, the arts. They came with nothing. And they flourished. For six centuries there has been a Jewish Krakow. By this evening those six centuries will be a rumor. They never happened. Today is history.

That movie is a reminder of how truth can easily be manufactured or written off.
