the philippines has 6 world champions right now minus marvin.if you dont think that is moving forward i dont know what?when did the philippines has 6 champions in a single year.do you think if filipinos fight locally they will get their belts.in reality our fighter has to fight abroad to gain recognition.can you name a filipino fighter that became successful just fighting in our country?

- WHY?

would you rather see two compatriots killing each other or a filipino pummeling the face of the foreigner? did you enjoy manny rearranging the face of the puerto rican or you would rather see him fight mark jason melligen? that is WHY!!!

In that's your logic, let's ban boxing in the Philippines then.

Filipino boxer's will only spar with foreign sparmates during training and allowed to fight only with foreigners.

I really dont get why a lot of Filipino boxing fans dont like seeing top Filipino fighters face each other. You guys need to let go of this Nationalistic view in pro boxing. Pro boxing is not a national sport. Its an individual sport between two men who are professional fighters whose job it is is to fight the best opposition available. Although I would rather see Mayol rematch Solis and Brian unify with Calderon first, a fight between Brian and Mayol makes a lot of sense in both boxing and financial views.

Why not? Mexicans do it all the time. Why not???

[color=#BF0000]Mexico is one among the most in number of boxers and even champions of the world
and yet we are just in the making and it is my hope to be one of them soon.Should that
time comes filipinos against our very own clashing in the ring would then be practically inevitable.

It's time for Mayol to land some big fights by knocking out that Filipino wannabe Brian "Hawaiian Lucky Punch" Viloria.I'm sure Mayol will put Viloria into sleep just like he did to Sosa(the guy who spanked Viloria's face). After all Mayol is more Filipino than Viloria.

Can't understand why you hated Viloria so much, is it because he speaks good English than you? He is still a Filipino by blood.

guys imagine two Filipinos in maint event in Las Vegas, like what the mexicans have achieved. barrera vs morales, vasquez vs. marquez. If we can do that, then thats the time the Philippines have really dominate the pro boxing, just like the mexicans.
