KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Manute Bol, a lithe 7-foot-7 shot-blocker from Sudan who spent 10 seasons in the NBA and was dedicated to humanitarian work in Africa, died Saturday. He was 47.

Most NBA cats go broke on cars, jewelry & groupies. Manute Bol went broke building hospitals.
He fought for his people in Sudan.

Mr. Bol, you are a hero who will be remembered forever for your good deeds. If only Filipino politicians have his heart, we would have better economic conditions in the Philippines today. Unfortunately, it is not easy to copy that man's kindness.

As a norm, Genetic Freaks usually don't grow old, they die below the life expectancy level :?

Back when I was a kid, I remember him blocking some of MJ's shots, I was in awe because he really looked like a human spider (really long and thin extremeties + disproportionate head)... and his famous 3-pointer that drove the crowd nuts, he was with the GS Warriors if Im not mistaken... then got famous again for winning the lottery (courtesy of his wife)
