I didn't see any sweet science in the rematch with Barrera.

I'm still afraid for BoomX2 as far as the "hit and don't get hit" boxing formula.

Keep him away from DPDL!

Lets face it, he got no future on it as long as he doesn't change his ALA 's style. :peace:

In fairness to the ALA boys, they have good skills and good defense (see Milan Milendo and Z Gorres). It's just that Bautista has not adopted the defensive skills of his peers.

I think the biggest flaw of the ALA fighters is in the conditioning department. Most of them tire out in the later rounds.

Lack of technique I should say. One-two punch, backpedal routine is all you see in all of ALA boxers. So predictable and amateurish. ALA must retire his trainers and hire topnotch and world class trainers in the mold of roach.

Boom boom is a much bigger draw in the philippines compare to nonito.
because boom boom is a much exiting fighter at matapang walang takot sa suntukan win or lose.
for me kaya na ni boom boom si donaire ngayon.
deadly lang yan si donaire in early rounds.

Unfortunately, it would be hard for Boom-Boom to succeed because boxing is a "thinking man's" game. Actually, for all ALA fighters...they're too robotic.

You are very right. ALA fighters are weak mentally. I think ALA teaches them only to be brave, strong and develop some skills. Until its fighters show some intelligence and ring smarts, they will always fail against elite fighters. Something is wrong with the coaches, it's them who needs more training.

It's about time for Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista to fight an opponent ranked within the top 10. I say, enough with the confidence-building fights and challenge the big-name opponents. No more fights against the likes of Marangin Marbun, Saichon Sotornpitak, and Alejandro Barrera.

Here are the Ring's top 10 featherweights:

    1. Juan Manuel Lopez
    2. Yuriorkis Gamboa
    3. Chris John
    4. Orlando Salido
    5. Daniel Ponce De Leon
    6. Cristobal Cruz
    7. Elio Rojas
    8. Bernabe Concepcion
    9. Rafael Marquez
    10. Hozumi Hasegawa

With Boom Boom's lack of defense, he will always have big problems against the hard punchers like Juan Manuel Lopez, Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Daniel Ponce De Leon.

I think he should fight opponents like Chris John and Hozumi Hasegawa. Yes, he will probably be outboxed, but there is a no real risk of getting knocked out. Plus, Boom Boom's power will always be a real threat against these type of opponents.

Let him and #8 fight first. :D

'BOOM-BOOM' BAUTISTA HEADLINES 'PINOY PRIDE X' ON DEC. 10

“We're looking at a very formidable foe for Boom-Boom especially now that he is already rated No. 5 by the IBF,” ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told the media.

ALA should make good on the promise. especially now Boomboom thinks he is in the same league as Donaire.
