Boom-boom looked sluggish from the beginning. He did not look like he wanted to be there. Walang gana.

Looked like he had a fat gut.
It was a Pinoy Pride event and he wasn't even in great shape.

he went done against the rope twice (boom! and boom!).

from then on, i know he won't be able to come back.

it's a good thing ponce de leon wasn't interested in a rematch against him.

otherwise boom2 could have suffer the same fate as their first encounter.

I stopped watching after round 2. Those 2 rounds were really bad. He knows that he has a glass chin but he did not practice moving his head to avoid the punches. He just covered his face with his gloves which obviously not a good idea. Those kind of defense is only good when the boxer has a granite chin. The result is, he got hit on the face and he had a problem of countering back.

I remembered the same problem with z gorres before. The guy also has a weak chin but instead of covering his face by his gloves, he was good in avoiding punches by moving his head.

Boom boom not in great shape, but ramirez although in better shape did not win this fight. Ramirez only have 5 rounds and obviously a very rugged fighter. There are so many fouls from Ramirez boom boom also fought dirty at the end after he got elbowed unintentionally because of the rugged fight. Both of them looked amateurs.

IMO Z is better than Boom-Boom during his heyday. He just didn't have enough pop in his punches and he spends all night trying to avoid his opponents punch kaya pag later rounds siya natamaan survival mode siya (e.g. Montiel and Darchinyan).

I don't have video to back it up but I have seen one fight of Z were his corner man or probably Aldeguer himself throw a towel. It could be his first defeat against Edgar Rodrigo ( I only based it on box rec). What I have noticed is, he can't handle pressure boxers. That is what I have observed, he is really good in moving his head to avoid the punches but when he gets hit, you will really see him in trouble.
