Here's an example of what a fighter should be. He keeps fighting even if he over matched his opponent. He let the referee handle it. And the referee eventually and rightfully stopped the fight. The people in the ring knows exactly their respective role. That's how it should be.

He should let the referee stop the fight. Good sportsmanship tho.

Did Efren Bata win?

On topic: The referee could've stopped the fight right on. He was only 2 seconds late.

Good gesture but bad outcome in my opinion. More of a pu ssy move in my opinion....why even fight when you dont want your opponent to get hurt. IMO its a sign of weakness might as well look for a different sport...preferably a non contact sport.

The other guys was already badly hurt. If he continues to punish the guy, he'll rack up a win but send the poor one to the hospital. He said it clear, they don't get paid. He must be thinking, it's just one win, but he'll give the other guy's family some problems they will have hard time overcoming.

then why the fvck did he even waste his, his opponent's and other people's time? He's already popping the guys face. the least he could have done is give him a chance to get even. If he truly was compassionate, he would have let the guy punch him in the face in the same amount he punches his, then call it quits.

Would you do that, letting your opponent punch you in the face to get even somehow. Now, that's more stupid than what Mike did (if you will call it stupid, which I don't think it is).

either that or keep fighting till the referee stops it. I'd choose the latter if I was the fighter.
If he's not willing to receive the punches that he gave, then he's not that compassionate after all. why would you punch somebody in the face knowing that it will hurt? Then after punching and kicking the other guy in the face numerous times, suddenly, he calls it quits? what the fvck! I would be pissed if I was that losing fighter.

He got in the ring because he is a MMA fighter paid or not paid its his sport. The guy was not hurt based on video. ...though he hit his opponent plenty of times the guy was still standing and was still capable of fighting. Who knows he probably got discouraged and had to bail out or maybe he ran out of moves....

His compassion was admirable but it made me think, why the fvck even bother to get into the hurt business? Why the hell did he agree to fight that day? People just needs to fuckin make up their minds and know and understand exactly what they agreed to get into.

God made him do it bro. 8)

Why is this thread in the Billiards forum?

On topic, i don't think it was a good move. They should not emulate Pacquiao's kindness in the ring.

In the ring, you have to be a beast. Show no mercy. That's what this business is all about. Otherwise, don't be in it.

If Mike wants a piece of advice...well here it is...

Someone will try and knock you out....and they won't even care about it....cuz it's part of the sport...so live with it if you want to stay in the sport.

IMO he should've KO'ed his opponent just to have some
fighters respect. People have different perceptions and
opinions on things depending on what environment he/she
grew up in and how he is taught back when he/she was a kid.

Almost, if not all of these fighters grew up in a very rough environment.
These guys are prepared to be punched and punch back. This is
their life. So if you do that to an unknown fighter, I think you are
taking away his credential as a fighter and you are taking away what
might be his way of helping his family and live through the rough life
he grew up living.

But then again, as I watched the video, his opponent didn't train well
and doesn't have the will to fight. He is just there to survive and get
paid. And maybe, just maybe, this little Filipino knew what this guy felt.
Sometimes there's a little more to the story than the news itself.

Just my 2 cents though. :peace:
