he really said that? LOL

hellafunny... that's what you get for giving stupid comments..!

if a person wants to be american, german, pinoy, mexican... who CARES???
but NEVER should someone explicitly tell the media, after 20 fights and numerous outcries from the phil. public that you have gone from hawaiian, via filipino-american, to PINOY!!! this ain't the army LOL
BV just shot himself in the foot...

he shouldn't have said that days before his next fight..! he should have said that when the first journalists/writers were approaching him early in his career..!
he almost "highlighted" that he's 100% filipino, but can he speak a straight sentence in tagalog? LOL i don't think so...

BV should get a PR-manager... he's trying so hard he almost looks stupid...

I felt the same way towards De La Hoya and Vargas as they were both trying too hard to get the support of the Mexican boxing fans by saying they were really Mexican fighters. In fact, I believe De La Hoya has dual citizenship...and Vargas was always talking about how he was 100% Mexican, although he was born here in the US and could barely speak Spanish. I didn't like either of them for this reason. I mean, just accept who you are and be happy. If you are born here, you are an American. Simple as that. Peace.

So I'm sure that made you cheer your heart out for Tito when he beat these two fake mexicans huh? :biglaugh:

i was the biggest tito fan on that night he beat the living crap out of vargas...and was an even bigger fan when he made DLH demonstrate his 'track' skills by running like a lil beeyatch for the last half of the fight

Im mexican and I was rooting for Tito because ODLH and Vargas are not true mexican warriors. They don't even fight like mexican boxers that were raised and trained in mexico. Its funny cause even all the mexican people I know were rooting for Tito when he fought both.Im glad ODLH and Varga's careers are over cause I was tired of the fony I'm a true mexican act.

I doubt that you're a true Mexican bro,
your name and your sig should be Santana!
:biglaugh:

(PEACE MAN!)

lol,I love Santana also but Hendrix is the man.lol

Okay, okay, here, take my peace offering bro!

Amen to that Pareng BC. and there's nothing for Manny to be ashamed of in plugging his movie. the kid is trying to make a living thru fair means. however, i also believe that the best way of inviting movie goers to watch his movie is to knockout velasquez come saturday night. Support all the way for Pacman![/quote]

There’s nothing wrong with plugging a movie but do it in the appropriate setting, venue, time etc. Manny should handle business FIRST which is a win over Velasquez. Plug your movie all you want AFTER the event!

Manny cannot make everyone happy. He can't make all satisfied or proud of what he can do. Try to take his shoes and let's see if you can handle things out the way you like? Just a single punch and you will surely kiss the canvass. Why are you all here to throw such nasty comments? You're of the same breed as that of our lousy politicians who are good as rugs in throwing negative comments from morning to evening and nothing else! Who are you to say that to Manny? Are you good enough? Are you good enough ha? Shame on you!

Nasty? Same breed as a lousy politician? Whoa, dude I’m just expressing an opinion. What’s wrong with me saying I’m disappointed and embarrassed with Manny’s professionalism. I’m not taking shots at his character, oh wait maybe I was when I said “what a moronic move….” Come to think of it, Manny did look like a little moronic and childish up there laughing giddily when he TRIED to plug his movie. He didn’t even mention the title of the bloody movie! There’s a nasty uncalled comment. Spank me for me being a bad boy.

Anyways, it’s moronic because the timing is bad. Like I said before, plug the movie after handling the business at hand, which is fighting. What if Manny loses? What will everyone say? It didn’t take very long for the boxing media to crack jokes about Manny and his acting career. With that said IMO, I feel pac set himself up for the media and boxing fans to take a shot at him. IMO, pac wasn’t representing his true self, which is a boxer with a ton of heart who fights his opponents with ferocious fearlessness. That is why he gets respect and adoration from the media and the fans. Not because he is making movies or he has a song being made for him or that the undertaker is walking him out. OMG Manny is getting hyped up amid all the HYPE and I just think that he should remain TRUE to himself. He’s not an actor. He’s a boxer.

All I’m saying is, Manny is a boxer and that is what got him to this point in his career and that is why people are fans of him. He can do whatever he wants on the side, (and I totally support him on that) but my hope for him is that he doesn’t become distracted and lost by what fame and hype has brought him.

You want Manny to be a fulltime boxer and not act? Whydon't you learn to box move up the ranks and show him how it's done? LOL, it's obvious you're never put on a pair of gloves before. Mabuhay! :-)

i actually don't want him to do anything... it's just what i would do, if i were in his shoes..! i know how tough it is to be a professional fighter, but if he says "para sa pilipinas!", then damnit do EVERYTHING to be sure you get that "W" after round 12!!! but he's like "para sa mga kabayan!" and i'm thinking "does he mean the movie?"...
well madame esmeralda, your tiny little crystal ballZ have given you false predictions, if i may add... like i said: some people just use their head to eat and waste air..!

about PAC himself: well, i was already piZZed during his preparations for the fight against EM - actually it all startet before the JMM-fight..!

this upcoming fight will be tricky! i don't know if 4 weeks of preparation is enough... heck, doing about 100 sparring roundZ within 4 weeks, plus learning new moves and making weight is a tough task...
i really can't say if PAC is as hungry as he was before the MAB-fight... maybe us hyping him up got to his head???
i'd put it this way (from now on): may the better (prepared) man win!!!

my exact same sentiments, my frustrations RE Pac's cramming started since pre-JMM fight, nothing's changed.

is it just me, but I'm not excited to see this Double Trouble fights at all (a Pac slip that the rematch with Morales is already a done deal...so what's this a glorified sparring match?) , Viloria-Ortiz is the only interesting fight...I'd rather see Barrera-Peden and Suico-Jauregi.

Even Gary Shaw made fun of him...that was hillarious. Like the world cares where Villoria is from. Anyway, Villoria will be beaten by Ortiz, regardless of where he says he's from lol. Peace.

Just 2-3 years ago BV always claimed that he is Hawaiian American and ignored any trace of being Filipino or having Filipino roots. Now that MP went mainstream in bigtime boxing, all of a sudden BV starts to strut as being Filipino and will only wear the Fil flag after almost 20 fights in his pro career. It looks like he is riding the MP fame bandwagon.

With due respect to what you have said, you must produce an evidence that he really said that because it will really change the image of the person in the fan's view

Every boxer market themselves differently I guess. Vargas has his own fan following and he has to carry on that image that his fan grasped on. Dela Hoya on the other hand sold out. From a boxing standpoint, I like Vargas before his loss from ODH and Tito. He used to be an excellent body puncher. He was disciplined and stays on the attack mode. I think he just tasted success too soon, bad management. As far as Oscar, he's got some fast hands if only he could stop eating those menudos and get in shape. He lacks stamina but he is very skillful.

Look at JMM a great boxer w/ no marketing plan....now who would you wanna be?

Tiger Woods? :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Cmon bisdak, hat about your local boy Phil "Mr. watch me blow away my lead" Mickelson?

If you would ask me i would like Els' swing, Tiger's focus, Phil's short game and Tiger's wife.....:)

You can have the swing, focus and the short game bro. I'll take Tiger's money and wife! :diablo: :biglaugh:

I disliked Vargas and de la Hoya for that reason, bro. They were trying too hard to be Mexican. Yet they could barely speak English. I find it extremely difficult to relate to someone else culture-wise if they do not speak the language of my native country. The native language is a defining element of every culture in the world. If you cannot speak that language, how can you possibly say you are part of that culture??? Peace.

Oh... don't forget he belted a song too (on top of plugging his movie).

But don't worry bros. I expect Manny to get the light out of this guy Velasquez with 5 rounds.
