As mentioned in one of the presses in this website, there's a posibility that Gerry Penalosa might take on Hozumi Hasegawa, the WBC bantamweight champ. Should these two face off, I could tell Penalosa has an advantage in terms power and experience.

Yes, it's doubtful from happening because of the fact that Japanese fighters only go for WBA and WBC. However, that possible bout was mentioned in that press where in Penalosa has been given an offer from Golden Boy.

There's a possibility that Japan has a bit of a relationship with WBO. If you look at the ranking list of the WBO at the WBO website, you'll noticed that some of the fighters ranked there are Japanese.

What an effing japs' excuse. coward japs boxers..as always. Alphabet belts don't even matter nowadays. I like Jerry to just put a sudden death to Abner Mares career. That could be a very exciting Mares' schooling by JP.

GP HAS WHAT IT TAKES. JAPANESE FIGHTERS RARELY FIGHT OUT OF JAPAN. IF HIS TEAM ARE WILLING TO SET A FIGHT IN JAPAN I HOPE HE CAN TAKE THE TITLE OUT OF THEIR HANDS. A TRUE CHAMPION DESERVES TO HOLD THAT TITLE.

 Well, if it happens...he will again be victimized a Japanese hometown decision. It happened in the past...he will lose in a split decision. :(
