Will this be Gerry's last fight? :boxing:

Did anyone notice that Gerry Penalosa is not fighting on the undercard of PAC-ODLH on December 6th? If you check boxrec, he's off the undercard.

It appears that Gerry will still be fighting his mandatory challenger, Abner Mares, but at a more closer date. October 18th, on the undercard of Pavlik-B HOP.

Perhaps this is good as it will give Coach Roach more time to train the other boxers, especially Manny.

Gerry should just move to Super Bantamweight and challenge israel Vazquez

Do you really think Gerry still has a trilogy left in him? I don't think so. I don't even know how he'll do against Mares. But regardless, Penalosa needs to win convincingly.

Assuming Penalosa wins against Mares, I still think the best way for him to go would be to defend his title against Fernando Montiel. And if he can defeat Montiel, I think he should go for one more money fight, then retire.

But if Penalosa loses against Mares, I think he should call it quits.

There's rumor that Fernando Montiel, the current WBO Super Flyweight champion is moving up to bantamweight. With Montiel being a WBO champ, i'd like to see Penalosa defend his WBO title against Montiel after Mares. I think it'd make a great fight. Gerry's more refined than Z and has more power. I think Gerry should be able to beat Montiel.
