Another great boxing day for the Philippines!

Pacman is the man for all of us pinoys and while Nonito is gaining a following and Brian regaining believers, Gerry Penalosa is in the heart of every pinoy's prayers and the veteran that he is that carried the flag of the country atop the ring before the Pacquiao's, Villoria's, Donaire's and the ALA boxers came into the atmosphere, Gerry has a sentimental following among Filipinos.

This match against Lopez is a really tough one, but looking at the Puerto Rican's record, he only has Ponce de Leon as the real name that he beat. But Ponce for me is not even an elite fighter and he even indeed survived a controversial win over Gerry.

My feeling is Lopez would really suffer a lot of boxing lessons from Gerry boy, and for sure if the fight goes the full route, Gery would win. The problem is it could be another case of Gerry winning the fight from the eyes of the boxing fans but not from the eyes of the judges.

If Gerry survived in the early rounds, the second half of the fight would surely belong to Gerry. I do not know if Lopez' bread basket or kidney has been tested well enough, because if he is weak on that part of his body, Gerry being one the best body puncher P4P would really have a great chance winning this fight.
