No matter how many times I watched the stupid bout between Penalosa vs Morel, Penalosa WON. From round 7 to 12 it was Penalosa's rounds all the way. Morel knows he didnt win, thats how a fight goes when stupid judges were around.

Penalosa clearly won that fight. Morel was doing nothing special, while Gerry was on attack mode with vicious body shots in the last 4 rounds. It was a close fight because Gerry wasn't aggressive to start the fight, but he obviously won the majority of the rounds. A 115-113 or 116--112 decision for Penalosa would have been respectable, but those scores the other way..I just can't believe it. It wasn't a robbery, but it was a mistake.

I'm a fan of Gerry but he lost that fight. Had Gerry won, people will also call it a robbery.

actually my scorecard read 114-114. Maybe Morel won due to volume of punches, aggression and unscathed face (save blood on his mouth). could have gone either way, really.

I have it 115-113 for Morel. Morel won it through his workrate. Although Penalosa was more aggressive it was because of frustration and desperation.

I had Penalosa winning 115-113, and that's giving Morel some benefit of the doubt. Morel, the bigger guy, was backing up all night, and his punches were pitty-patty. The damage done to Penalosa was due to those damn headbutts. Gerry displayed excellent combinations and effective punching, even with Morel backing up. Gerry's defense was also exceptional. Always a joy watching his fights. Too bad there aren't enough competent judges who appreciate his boxing.

criterias in judging a Professional Boxing match:

a.) clear and clean punches= it goes to gerry

b.) effective aggressiveness= it goes to gerry

c.) defense= it goes to gerry

d.) ring generalship= it goes to gerry

It's very sad for Boxing. Its very very clear/obvious that Gerry was Robbed big time. a highway robbery indeed

Gerry Penalosa must/should be awarded via Wide Unanimous Decision. It's Sad but True.

I am rooting for GP but I dont think Gerry was robbed here. Morel had a good clean punches and if you can see the punch stats , he hits more with higher pct. That fight was a sorry loss for Gerry, why? he got 2 accidental headbutts and chasing a sleek more. Again, this kind of fight is a hard fight for gerry.

Win or lose, or whatever your scorecards read... it was a close fight. It was close enough for either Morel or Penalosa to win.

And that's what split decisions are all about. Close, very close fights.

The scores were nearly as close as the Pacquiao/Marquez 2 fights.

Morel wins, I have no problem.
Penalosa wins, I have no problem.
A draw probably would've done justice to both fighters.

It wasn't a robbery. It wasn't biased.

To me, Penalosa won hands down. Top Rank commentators had Morel winning the early rounds but said it was difficult to judge because they saw it was a close fight. But by the middle up to the end they had Gerry winning all the rounds. During the 10th and 11th round, Pacman appeared as a side commentator and said that Gerry was just walking Morel down because Morel couldn't hurt Gerry. Of course Manny was biased and he had Gerry winning with a mile. It also showed to the reaction of Morel after the decision was announced. He was very jubilant; he knew he could have lost that fight.

True, you're a fan of Gerry but you don't know nothing about boxing.

It was an extremely close fight, but no robbery. Wish Penalosa knocked him out. Oh well...
