being a good counter puncher gerry will have more success fighting brawlers like montiel darchinyan or arce than boxers like morel.

definitely not,he is still very good..the only thing is those style(tokuyama, cho, and morel)the boxer runner type,it seems is not a good match up for gerry,he always looked bad whenever he faces an opponent like that.I believe Gerry can beat montiel...

as for me, if he'll be given a chance for a rematch against morel or a shot at arce and/or darchinyan, then he should continue fighting!

Its a tough call. In one hand you don't want Gerry to get hurt and not enjoy the money he's already made.

I thought Gerry is already financially independent. Doesn't he have plenty of money making business to support him, his family and life style?

Your feel sorry for the guy getting hit and just standing there waiting for the grass to grow, waiting for the last round before he hits back and goes on the attack.

In order to keep his boxing career and relevant his has to win at least one fight for every loss he suffers, otherwise no one will care.

As long as Gerry is still healthy, he can still be a high price gate keeper for up and coming boxers. If he is just after $$$, then I say yes.

How about boxing Pinoy journeyman to provide him a victory after each loss. Then fight in the Philippines against new foreign talent to increase tourism and generate $$ for the country?

Yes. He is definitely washed up. He had a great career, but it's time to hang those gloves.
