You can afford him anyway. If he does not give you a defensive style change, at least doing so will increase your value as a pugilist.

It's time to change your style because this time around because

1. you have a weaker chin- brain shrinks inside the skull as you age so more prone to concussion.
2. everyone has studied your moves already, as with fighting games, its useless to do a move that's expected by your opponent.

4 questions i would like to raise..

1. Is Pernell Whitaker a coach?
2. Is he willing to coach Packy?
3. Is Packy willing to be coached by a new guy?
4. Can u teach an old dog new tricks?

It's probably hard to change old habits at this time of his career

Hiring Lance Armstrong as a consultant won't hurt, either.

You're right, the one Marquez threw is a very lucky punch!

It wasn't lucky punch can you stop it now I see comments like this on YouTube and it makes us Filipino boxing fans who actually do know boxing make us look bad.not a lucky punch not a lucky punch not a lucky punch.oh yea and marquez is innocent until proven guilty just like manny is innocent until proven of using performance enhancement drugs.manny walked right into marquez straight right hand lead and tripped over marquez foot falling face first hitting the canvass.marquez has been practicing that punch to perfection manny weakness straight right hand lead counter with speed and precise power accuracy And timing which has happen with a new and improve marquez.

Pernell Whitaker hasn't shown himself to be that great of a trainer, he wasn't able to make any measurable improvements in Zab Judah or Paul Spadafora, two high-profile boxers he had been working with.

Also, Whitaker's personality quirks might detract from the chemistry of the Pacquiao camp. Too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak.

Paquiao achieved enourmous success in the ring not by being defensive.

He has enough defense to get by, but it's his overwhelming offense that gave him the win.

It might be conter-productive to alter his style training with an ex-boxer who fought defensively. Besides, it's also too late to experiment. He just has 2 fights or so left.
