I think this will be a much bettter fight for Gerry than Ponce de Leon, Vasquez's style is perfect for Penalosa!

Cool! 8) I like the match-up! :) I think Gerry has a big chance against Vasquez... even with the younger Marquez... Bring it on GBP! :D

IV is a slam bang fighter. Gerry's power and stamina might not be enough to repel Vasquez. I give Gerry 80% chance of winning. IV though is hittable and Gerry have excellent defense.

I think it's like wishing Manny to fight Cotto. Gerry is too small for Vazquez, Vasquez can even move up to super feather to fight Manny.
I think better match-up for gerry is Jorge Arce.

Guys all I knew that Jerry has never ever been kd in his entire career I think a fight with Vasquez is a good match up and he can handle Vasquez power lets bring it on.

I think it's not impossible since boom boom has knockout power. unahan lang sila...the reason for the possibility is Vasquez' vulnerable defense...

Vasquez is not that big to be compared against Gerry. Gonzalez is much bigger. Both are technical fighters, and both have power that could knock out each other.

I think Gerry could defeat Vazquez, due to the fact that Vazquez gets hit more often than Gerry. As you could see in his last thre fight, defense and counter punching was Gerry Penalosa's forte. Remember also that Jhonny Gonzalez was able to knock down Vazquez twice in their fight, but Gonzalez was not able to do that to an older Penalosa.

The work rate showed by Penalosa in his fight against Gonzalez and Vorapin is akin to the way JMM transformed himself from a usual counter puncher to an initiator of offense also. Penalosa, if you have been watching him closely, is not content on counter punching anymore. That may have been a lesson he learned when he lost to DPDL, and may very well serve him in a fight against Vasquez or Marquez, or a rematch with DPDL.

size doesn't matter!

Verry Well said... Gerry is the man he's on His Peak of His Career.
He will come out the Victor if This Fight Materialize!!

Vazquez might look the perfect match for Gerry, but I would never bet on Gerry in this fight.

The first Pinoy to beat Gerry was Samuel Duran who was hyper-aggressive but doesn't pack as much firepower as Vazquez. I can only imagine what Vazquez will do to Gerry. He may not be able to KO Gerry, but will push Gerry back in total defense mode all night, given his handspeed and accuracy.

I really wouldn't count Gerry out against Vasquez.

Besides, it would be the biggest payday of his career if it does happen.

Boom Boom or AJ Banal but not Jerry. Jerry is aging, honestly I am not impressed of his previous fight except for the latest against Vorapin. Jerry's punches and style are a lot predictable and I think power is already off. I am quite surprised that he still stopped Vorapin and Gonzales. Yeah It is true that he KOed Gonzalez except for that lucky punch in the belly Jerry did not land anything.

What do you mean Jerry is too small for Vasquez? Jerry fought a way bigger Johnny Gonzalez and made Johnny look like little John of Voltes V.... I say Jerry VS. Vasquez is a good fight...Let's bring it on!!!!!!
