There has been a lot of posts in this thread, many coming from people who do not even know what is the issue being discussed here. To put things in the proper perspective, lets look at the relevant events that transpired.

1. Nov 13, 2009. Z Gorres collapsed in the ring right after being declared the winner in his fight against Colombian Luis Melendez at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino's House of Blues.

2. Jan 15, 2010. Gorres was released from the hospital. Expenses reached more than $500,000. $450K was paid for by the Nevada State Stheletic Commission, $50,000 by Top Rank.

3. Jan 17, 2010. Pacquiao volunteered to raise $500,000. The money will go to his Manny Pacquiao Foundation which in turn will hand over the money to Z Gorres. A fund raising dinner to be hosted by Manny himself was to be held within 3 weeks, before Gorres leaves for the Philippines. When asked why the the fund raising was being started only then when all the hospital expenses have been paid already, Koncz said Pacquiao feared that the proceeds might just go to Z's hospitalization and medical expenses and not to him and his family. “This is the reason why Manny opted to hold it after the medical and hospitalization expenditures were all paid for precisely so that the amount to be raised will go to Gorres and his family.”

4. Jan 30, 2010. Dr. Calderon, Frank Slaughter (University of Nevada Las Vegas boxing coach), the Philippine Medical Association of Nevada; and the Philippine Nurses Association of Nevada held a fund-raising dinner event for Z. The event which was not supported by Pacquiao, raised $10,000.

5. Feb 7, 2010. Three weeks after Pacquiao said he will host a dinner as part of his foundations effort to raise $500K. No such event has taken place.

6. Feb 16, 2010. Z Gorres is home. No fund raising dinner has been held yet by Manny Pacquiao Foundation. No $500,000 as promised.

These are just facts. I am not making any conclusions or judging anybody.

Hey Sir!!! Is Pacquiao the manager of Z? It seems that that you are barking at a wrong tree.

Yes, mostly those who will vote for Noynoy are Kri's fans....why should I trust our country to a Mama's boy, Little sister's boy and Matandang binata?

First of all, our prayers to Z Gorres for his recovery.
But why put the burden on Manny as to financial obligation.
Manny has no relation to ZGorres either as promoter or manager for at least there is contract obligation between the two. There was none.
The only thing is ...they are in the same profession. And Manny is money meaning his pocket is full of million dollars.
First of all, Z Gorres should go after his manager to see what is in the contract. If there is a provision with regards to injury, or if there is insurance in case of incapacity due to boxing.
Also, ZGorres should know as to what extent is the promoter's liability in this kind of injury due to performance in the ring.
Ask if there is boxer liability insurance...this is million dollar worth insurance if covered.
Lastly, ask our government, our Sports commission if there is any compensation for a boxer like him who give honor to the country but suffered injury.

Do not put all the blame to Manny. Legally, Manny is not oblligated by way of giving cash out of his pocket but only there to help by way of donation or by way of raising fund for Gorres. But to give cash out of his hard earned money by brutal boxing, Manny has no obligation.

You are very right MAN... Mukhang nabubulagan lang ang mga tumitira ki Manny eh. Trans: Crab Mentality you know
