anyone heard about MSI Wind??What´s your take on this brand??

it sucks.

brands that you should beware of: MSI - brittle and cheap construction and components.
ACER budget line laptops - bluescreen errors due to MB construction and type used.
a lot of incompatibility problems.

My Acer has no problems at all. It might be an isolated case, and may be true to other brands as well.

Actually, the 16" it's my second choice (the graphic cards and proc is better), .. but I fell for the "18... I like the screen size much better..

I got mine from NCIX store, Vancouver. it cost me around $1,775 CAD (tax included). 8)

kyowa just like mine :D

joke.. i have a dell latitude d620, a d600, an ibm thinkpad x61s and a t43 (for my tfc)
and a toshiba satellite u403.

for work i prefer using my ibm x61s since its compact, for personal use i go for my dell latitude d620, it has a modular bay where i can switch to either my hard drive or a dvd drive, or you can add another battery if you wish.

Acers work fine but based on experience, only thing i hate about acers are the drivers.
(i downgraded 2 acers from Vista to XP) They have them on their site but sumtimes they dont work. (lesson learned : make a screenshot or write down all the manufacturer and model before you proceed)

Cheers!

Wow..! it's really cheap there in Vancouver...

I got mine locally at Octagon SM Megamall for about PHP96K...

I am also opting for the 18" model like yours but I think we don't have it yet here in RP...

But since I will be bringing it soon to US, I guess it's good enough for it's portability... :)

Here are it's specs...

yeah! it's cheaper there.. even in the US.. the sony vaio, for instance.. you get it here at PHP100k or less,. there you can get it for 50-70K PHP converted.

Yeah.. the 18" inch is not yet here.. the last time I check.

But you should have use a anti-itch lotion in the meantime, before you bought your lap-top.. since you are going US.. or probably you never saw it coming? that eventually you will be traveling abroad?

laptop's here are over priced.. :( darn...

your quite right, 16" is better if you travel alot.. or move from time to time.. it's lighter and portable..
