Your right sis bretz. Laptops are much cheaper in other countries compared to Philippines. :)

@Retz

Go for HP/Compaq. There are lots of HP/Compaq service centers in PI already. If in case there's some problems, the spare parts are always available. I already experienced this one with my HP laptop unit, unlike IBM/Lenovo still you have to wait from weeks to months just to replace your LCD bulbs. Never tried Dell yet but I heard their customer service is not that good, same with Lenovo.

IMHO, I go for brands that are relatively durable, affordable, and best of all dependable. Its HP/Compaq for me.

Have you come across with NEO laptops? They also offer affordable laptop units and parts are always available just like HP/Compaq. :D

You can find the cheapest laptops in Taiwan/China. Almost 40% cheaper than in Philippines.

Neo laptops as I know are manufactured in the Philippines, somewhere in Pasig(?).

I suggest DELL and HP. Toshiba has issues with their batteries wearing down easily.
