So, our friends in the US, how is it??

is it worth it ($500) or should we jus wait for the next model to come up??

I was told we'd have to wait for 3 more months...

maybe it's just me, but most people i know and work with here in the US use freebie phones...with a one or 2 year contract with the cell phone provider. one person that i know who has it says it's good in all functions except that he had a hard time calling (duh) the first two weeks. he's has an at&t service. pure eye/ear candy.

Nice interface, but internet is too slow, not on 3G. Single carrier only which is AT&T. First day of release was terrible, a lot were not able to activate it for several hours up to more than a day. Really pricey.

well if you have the money to buy it, then do so... it's something that you will not regret buying, even for $500.... if you go to an apple store you can try the demos and (if you have the money) you won't leave the store without getting one...
all these people who are saying that they will stick with mootorola or samsung or nokia just don't have the $ to spend.

That is true, if you have money to waste, then buy it. iPhone is just "nice to have" gadget. In other parts of the world, people would be willing to pay $800 or more for a cellphone but here in the US its different. Most american consumers like the free subsidized phones, so anything more than $250 is unacceptable.

Why buy a phone that is worth $500, when you can get one with different brand for "FREE".
